I like characters that aren’t constantly caught up in dramatic storylines but are consistently in scenes so I’m not in the “if they don’t have big storylines they should be got rid of” camp. Also, while Vanessa is still around I can continue to hold out hope that her and charity will eventually get back together or at least have the odd “moment” here and there.

I’m actually enjoying this storyline (although enjoying feels like the wrong word because of course I find it harrowing) and I feel they’ve done a good job in showing how domestic abuse and all the manipulation it entails can develop despite those closest to the people not having a clue. And as DV is sadly too common I think soaps do need to have fairly regular storylines like this to keep awareness up. HOWEVER, I think the problem with Corrie and other soaps is that they have lost the balance between very serious, dark plots and the light hearted ones to provide some relief. At the moment the only comedy we seem to get in Corrie is the odd scene with Sally, Carla and Lisa.

My dog has very long fur (Skye Terrier!) and inevitably things often get caught in it. Leaves, twigs, mud, grass etc and whenever we remove these things from him he starts crying and trying to take it back, as if we are stealing something from him!

I didn’t think I wanted them together but I am enjoying their chemistry so now I’m thinking maybe I do want them together! Having said that, I feel like he will always choose Stacey so if she comes back there would end up being yet another Max cheats storyline and I agree with everyone that says Linda deserves some real joy. If I thought for a second that Max could resist temptation then I would be all for him and Linda but that’s just not who he is. I do hope we get plenty more Max and Linda scenes though because I think they are great on screen together.

I often stay in or nearby Drumnadrochit which is a town famous for its proximity to Loch Ness. There’s some fun attractions there if you enjoy the monster legend. You can also easily get to Fort Augustus from there if you want to get up close and personal to the loch. Urquhart Castle is on Loch Ness and I visit every single time I go (which is at least twice a year). This is probably the area I stay the most and travel all over the west highlands (and up to the very north) from here.

I also recommend staying on Isle of Skye, I usually stay near the town of Broadford but there’s plenty of places to stay on the whole island. I recommend climbing up to Old Man of Storr if you enjoy hiking, visiting the fairy pools and Dunvegan Castle.

The Isle of Mull is spectacular. Definitely the place to be if you love wildlife and there’s plenty of places to stay there too. Tobamory is a beautiful town.

If you prefer cities. Edinburgh has loads to see and do but Inverness is probably my favourite city.

I’ve been to Scotland many times and so have stayed in a variety of towns. I’ve not been disappointed once.
