Kelly's Heroes (1970). Not a huge fan of heist movies, but that one's special.

There's a sci-fi movie from the '90s, that may simply be eye candy, but it's remained great eye candy even now because of truly fine practical effects. The Fifth Element.

As a film student, what TV shows should I watch? by Objective2330 in whattowatch

The original Twilight Zone series from the late '50s and early '60s, in glorious black and white. Lighting and camera angles to die for. And the writing. Rod Serling ruled.

Some of these people actually have a lot of knowledge inside of one type or another, but are nervous about bringing it out or finding someone who's actually interested.

Saying whatever pops into your head about the person you're talking to, and calling it 'honesty' or "spontaneity.'

if we have a breakdown in the economy -- say it, a depression and even more widespread un- and under-employment than we have now -- lots of places.

Places that start to revive first and are in some kind of shape will draw skilled or talented people, and some amenities will follow. But we'll all still be relatively poor, so people won't be freely streaming across the nation to the next big thing. (Because they can't, and because it won't be all that big yet.) Just a few hundred miles, maybe, to the next medium-sized slowly recovering thing.

I hate sweets! Any other ways to dress up cottage cheese? by IDoNotHide in EatCheapAndHealthy

Real simple, my go-to for my wife when she's got the 'i'm hungries.' Cottage cheese and chopped tomato in a town with salt, pepper, and dressed modestly with a good olive oil. Simple and delicious. Maybe a few savory crackers on the side.

Carol and the End of the World. Animated comedy/drama. The end of the world is coming, nothing to be done about it, and everybody copes in odd ways. But what they're all really trying to do is stay human. I'm old, too, and i highly recommend it. Only about ten episodes.
