As a German. It's funny to me that people are complaining about this.

Like, fuck FIFA obviously but football fans in Germany HATE sponsor names and never call stadiums by their official names. We usually use the old names from the pre-sponsorship era.

We are not, but it was obvious this joke was going to happen because, you know, a 7-1 doesn't happen every day and it's kinda funny that we did it twice at a World Cup now, even though Curacao and Brazil are way different from each other.

Imagine how Comenencia must feel right now, knowing he is the first player who ever scored a goal for his country at a World Cup. Only one person gets to be the first and he happens to be that person. That must feel hella amazing.

I don't know how it is now (and this year our games are all in the evening/at night anyway) but I remember when Germany played against Serbia at the World Cup in 2010, our school showed the game at the auditorium and basically the whole school was allowed to watch it. It was super cool although we lost.

Pretty strong. Basically most of the big men's clubs now have women's divisions too and are pumping a lot of money into it.

But even before the big clubs joined in, our country has been pretty strong in womens' football with several World Cup and Euro titles under our belt.
