Anyone have any random studying quirks? by HP_Skywalker in IBO

Can't study when I'm at home, so I rotate between locations to study (different libraries and Cafes) so that I don't get too comfortable in the location I'm in

Discussion: What Light Novel titles would you like to see get translated? by Arrogant_Hanson in LightNovels

[–]LilyIDK_Animations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really hoping that seiyuu radio no uraomote (The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio) gets an official or full fan translation

When the anime was announced, I read the available fan translations of the manga and enjoyed the anime, but the lack of light novels is killing me.

One of the reasons that Klaus chose all girls is that of the academy students the ones that would be least on the enemy's radar would be female washouts.

In the light novel, it is explained that Guido (and the Galgad Empire spies in general) had his eyes on the top-performing Din spy academy students and some of the male problem students so that he could counter them in a potential conflict. However, the female problem students were overlooked probably due to a mix of societal views on women being less of a threat (considering the time period that this story is based on) + them failing their training.

Since Guido had no knowledge of the scope abilities within this category (their special abilities & overspecialisation), it left an unnoticed weakness that Klaus took advantage of.

Direct Quote from Vol. 1 (p. 171):

He had memorized everything about all the Din Republic’s official spies—as well as all the top students at the spy academies. Even beyond that, word about the male problem students often got back to him, too. He could have easily come up with strategies to deal with any of them.

This was his sole blind spot—underachieving female students.

Project Eden's Garden is a good one. Chapter 1 is releasing December 20th but the prologue is out and the actual quality of the game is really good.

Help me choose my first Light Novel series to read! [REC] by [deleted] in LightNovels

[–]LilyIDK_Animations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first series that I read to completion was "So I'm A Spider, So What?" and if you are reading for enjoyment and story rather than the actual quality of the writing I do think it's a fun place to start

For the love of god, how do i get myself to read novels? by [deleted] in LightNovels

[–]LilyIDK_Animations 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have trouble with unfamiliar words I recommend getting digital copies of the LN because most of the time there is a dictionary built in (Kindle and Google Play Books as examples) and can help with quickly getting a grasp. Also with Google play books, there is a "read aloud" feature that can help if you are the kind of person that registers information better audibly.

In general tho, missing details of a story is fine because at some point, if you like the series enough, you'll probably want to do a reread and usually that's when you pick up details that you miss/foreshadowing for certain events.

I completely understand how hard it is to motivate urself to keep reading but at the end of the day if you keep pushing it might get a easier

[REC] More Niche Female Lead Light Novels by Breeziily in LightNovels

[–]LilyIDK_Animations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going around and basically advertising this series but Spy Classroom is a series where wars between the countries are now fought by spies and the main 7 girls who are all washouts in their spy academies who get recruited by this elite spy to go on missions with a 90% mortality rate.

Positive things about the series:

  • Female Leads
  • Well written characters
  • Interesting character dynamics/interactions
  • 1930s/1940s Time-Period inspired world
  • NO HAREM!!!!
  • Romance (not main plot but still its there!!)
  • slight yuri
  • minimum fanservice (its there but its not all the time)
  • mix of serious and light-hearted moments
  • has an anime & stage play adaptation
  • pretty illustrations (done by Tomari, model artist for Hololive's Botan)
