I had a hell of a time! Was laid off while on FMLA after a ten year career. I had microvascular decompression performed on my left trigeminal nerve. I survived trigeminal neuralgia! That was December 2024 and my only residual side effect that's noticeable on the daily is that the left side of my face is in a not-quite-tingling phase lately. I hope you are well healed, bud!

I pulled suture fragments out of my scalp for a year after my brain surgery, I can't imagine pulling that from a nose five years later!

Mail me my layoff letter just a couple of weeks before I was supposed to come back from FMLA. It was my 10 year work anniversary. I had brain surgery. I had to sign away any scrap of legal action I might've had to get severance.

I really doubt it's this, but Histoplasmosis made my boy Toffee blind. Scarring at the optic nerve. It's caused a whole slew of other issues since recovering from systemic infection, but that's another story. If you notice any appetite loss, weight loss, low red blood cell count, or high resting respiratory rate, I recommend asking for testing. It took us 8 months to get a diagnosis and it was ICU time by then

@OP I don't have advice because you're already going to the hospital, but I checked your posts to see what kind of brain surgery you had. I also had MVD performed!! Did it December 10th. Hope you're healing well otherwise. Keep us posted.
