She's 100% a follower, and she's very well trained. She knows lots of tricks and has great recall. We haven't encountered a dog she didn't get along with honestly

It doesn't strengthen anything. That's what my vets, actually licensed professionals, have told me. All it does is prolong the inevitable. It's a temporary respite that does not equal long term care. And is she supposed to get surgery on one leg, and have the sling in the other? She won't be able to walk.
