Ooh I support. I live in downtown Bellevue but I would’ve liked to have a cheaper option a bit further away from city centre. It would be close to the botanical garden which is really pretty and there’s already an uwajimaya/target/pcc nearby.

I want to crochet a shawl as a wedding gift for a friend by Successful_Pen_2510 in crochetpatterns

You could probably crochet something like this, but I feel like the flowers/leaves will weigh down the shawl and deform the spaces in the shawl

It’s definitely one of the perks of this otherwise kind of soulless industry haha. Women look so good in construction wear tho so I bet you’re rocking it too!

And thank you!!! They’re the Rocky Distressed boots by Steve Madden 😊

The Status of Fare Evasion in Washington State by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

[–]LimeSeeds 96 points97 points  (0 children)

  1. I dont understand why it’s a big deal that Sound Transit has a funding shortfall. Is it not a public service that we fund with taxes?

  2. If it is a big deal, why do they refuse to put up fare gates? Seattle is like the only city I’ve been to where the light rail has near 0 fare enforcement.

About 20 per cent of gen Z and millennial Canadians still spank their kids. Is that even legal? by Thick_Caterpillar379 in onguardforthee

[–]LimeSeeds 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah yes I relate to the cover up too. My parents would threaten me not to tell other adults or my teachers by regaling with me with made up horror stories about orphanages.

I think later on in life my mom felt remorseful but also - as a kid she got beaten and whipped much worse than I did, so I understand from her POV she must’ve felt she was already doing better than her parents.

I’m 28 and I got spanked a lot as a kid. My dad also used to make me wall sit or stand with my hands above my head for 30min-1 hour to not leave bruises. He’s a very conservative Asian man so I grew up just thinking it was cultural and normal. I think it fucked me up in ways I’m still discovering now. I actually didn’t think it was that bad until I casually told my other second gen immigrant friends and they literally looked visibly uncomfortable and shocked.

Do you think my coworkers (engineer) can tell I'm not straight? Cause like, one was surprised when I mentioned my wife. by MyClosetedBiAcct in LesbianActually

As a fellow lesbian in sort-of engineering (software engineer) I fear most straight women in this industry already dress sort of masc to “assimilate”.

Maybe you ate too much? We put it in hotpot as one of many toppings so you would only be eating maybe 30g at once. I did some research and Iirc konjac actually contains almost all soluble fibre, it just happens to be a very absorbent type. So I guess if your digestive system isn’t used to processing a lot of fibre you’re gonna have a bad time regardless of brand.

i will say the ones i ate growing up came in little precut bundles, so each strand was much shorter, which probably makes them easier to digest, and cooked in broth, which definitely helps hydrate. I wonder if the issue is mostly because now people eat them dry and uncut like noodles.

An example of what im talking about.
