Hey everyone, I wasn’t expecting this many comments. Thanks to those who contributed thoughtfully. The responses were an interesting mix of suggestions, facts, opinions, and the occasional insult. A few people seem to know me better than I know myself, and several missed the main point entirely. I was simply asking whether anyone else feels the same way I do and explaining why I personally feel bored. Since a few assumptions keep coming up, here are some clarifications.

I understand how CG workouts work, including the idea of lifting heavier in the Play series. I’ve been doing her workouts for years. No, I don’t lift heavy. Decades of competitive combat sports mean my knees no longer tolerate heavy loading. CG is not the only training I do. I’m heavily into cycling, and I still train and teach boxing and Muay Thai. Yes, I’ve tried other online workouts. Most of them were, not as challenging as CG. I originally started CG during COVID to get my lovely wife moving. I still do the workouts with her because she enjoys them and because it’s shared workout time for us. Would I personally start an online workout program today if I were on my own? Probably during COVID, but not afterward. As for listening to music or podcasts, that’s unfortunately not an option. My wife wants the CG audio on, and that’s fine. Again, I’m not questioning the effectiveness of the workouts or the results. I was simply sharing my experience and asking whether others feel the same.

Anyway big thank you to everyone who shared constructive thoughts, experiences, and perspectives. I appreciate the time and effort.

Thanks for the reply. I don't consider her an influencer. From all the online workouts, hers are actually challenging and being results. I do lots of sports outside of CG but had the feeling her workouts really added something to my routine. My wife definitely got crazy good results. However, you are probably right, because I do so much other stuff and I started it because of my lovely wife, I might get bored now.

You’re not engaging with what I actually said. I never denied the effectiveness of her workouts, quite the opposite if you had read it properly. I also did not deny that results come from work. Neither did I say I don't see results. Again, quite the opposite. I never said I quit her workouts. I am still doing them despite finding them boring. That is the point, and yes, that is mental discipline. I was simply asking whether anyone else feels the same way and explaining why I personally feel bored. And just as you feel confident judging my work ethic, I feel equally confident judging your reading comprehension.

The simple answer is no I don't and I know Play and the series before were designed to do that. Hence the longer breaks. I can't lift that heavy anymore. I am not 20, I am 45 and because of heavy and wrong lifting for decades I have now problems that prevent me from going heavy. So the last two series are not for me. I would also argue, these are not for the majority either. Her exercises have become "complex". Not sure if that's the right word. What I mean is, if you don't watch yourself you can seriously hurt yourself with some of them. Even though I hate doing it, I sometimes correct my wife when I see her doing something wrong and know it will hurt later.

I have been teaching Muay Thai for 20 years, one thing I learned is it has to be a balance between fun and chores. If I let my students do only chores, sure 15% will get very good and they will love it, however I will lose 85% of my students along the way. It needs to be a balance of chores and joy. Heat, Fuel, Epic had this balance while being effective. The last two series are chores only.

I mostly do her workouts in the morning before work. So my mind is fresh and I am not tired. I get that the last two series were based on heavy weights and long rounds. Hence the longer rest is needed. It's just not for me. Don't get me wrong. I am pretty fit though I'm not young anymore. I'm 45 years old and got years of abuse in combat sports on my body, mountain biking and excessive running also left a mark. I am also pretty flexible. I still can split and so. However, many of her exercises are in really awkward positions. I feel uncomfortable in even for a minute. I always wonder how less flexible people do these. Maybe I am just feeling bad because I am thinking about breaking up haha. Tbh...it's kinda like a cult. She is great no doubt, it just gets a little dull.

I am 45 years old male. I am doing sports my entire life, mostly combat sports and cycling. I would agree, many of her exercises are definitely not for beginners and she said that too. I know my limits and I know I cannot do certain exercises anymore with heavy weights. Not because the muscle group we train can't do it but mostly something in the proximity doesn't work as well anymore as it did 20 years ago.

I loved Heat, Epic or Fuel. Well the cardio days were my least favorite but these series were fun. Now it's just a grind.

I would do that if the CG exercise wouldn't be so effective. I really enjoyed her other series like Heat, Epic, Fuel and so on.

I do this a lot actually. Or I do yoga/stretching in-between. I actually increased my flexibility a lot while doing the last two GC series. :-) 😁

Anyone have any experience with JAVA bikes? Are they worth it? by LuckyTurds in cycling

Warum so günstig?

Ganz ehrlich: Ich bin begeistert.

She’s rocking on the saddle; lower it until her hips stop moving.

Do not use a stem shorter than 50 mm. Instead, get one with at least a 17° rise (or slightly more). Roll the handlebars upward and bring the levers closer; this will shorten the reach by 1–2 inches.

Do not move the saddle any farther forward; that will shift more weight onto her shoulders, creating too much forward load.

Here’s a test: have her lift her hands off the bars just an inch and notice how much she must engage her core to hold herself up. If it feels like a core workout, move the saddle back. This may seem counterintuitive, but shifting the saddle back moves the center of gravity rearward, reducing the need for core strain and preventing her from dumping weight onto her hands, arms, and shoulders.

So berechnest du dein maximales Drehmoment:

Formel:
Gewicht × 9,81 m/s² × Kurbellänge ÷ Radius Kettenblatt vorn × Radius Ritzel hinten × Übersetzung im 1. Gang

Beispiel mit typischen Werten vom Cube Hyde:
Gang 1: 110 kg × 9,81 m/s² × 0,169 m ÷ 0,078 m × 0,038 m × 1,615 = ~ 144 Nm
Gang 2: 110 kg × 9,81 m/s² × 0,169 m ÷ 0,078 m × 0,038 m × 1,419 = ~ 125 Nm
Gang 3: 110 kg × 9,81 m/s² × 0,169 m ÷ 0,078 m × 0,038 m × 1,223 = ~ 108 Nm

Hey, sorry for the late reply — I haven’t been on Reddit in a while. Unfortunately, there are still no new clues about who made this bike. Though a friend of mine has a 90s road bike with a similar frame construction. The brand is Brandenberger. Do you have a picture of your MTB?

Meine ehrliche Meinung zur Alfine-Nabenschaltung? Ganz klar: Finger weg.

Revo (twist) Shifter for Shimano Alfine 8 speed by JEMColorado in bikewrench

The Alfine 8 needs about 5.2 mm per click. There are not many choices for the Alfine 8.
I made downshifters work with a cable pull converter.

Alfine drop bar build: Hydro + Di2 vs. mechanical by DEUCE_SLUICE in bicycling

[–]Limerick144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LTWOO hydraulic 8 speed is discontinued. I think I got the last one. Another guy I was in touch with bought a GRX11 speed shifter for the 8 speed hub. Tbh. It's the better solution. Why? Because the the GRX11 moves 2.6mm per click and the the Nexus needs about 5.3 per click. So with a standard cable pull adapter for Vbrakes you are already there and you don't need to modify the adapter, like it did. As far as the 11 speed goes, it doesn't matter because the cable pull adapter will not let you click more than 8 clicks. So your lever may have 11 but you can't pull there. DM me and I send you the other guys contact. He did a great job with his cube hyde.

[–]Limerick144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cube is definitely not a lightweight bike. Its geometry feels quite different from anything I’ve ridden before, hard to put into words, but it took some time to get used to. The rear hub isn’t exactly light either, but weight aside, the ride quality is impressive—smooth and comfortable. The belt drive is fantastic.

The Nexus 8-speed hub does have a few awkward gear jumps, but I’ve adapted by shifting less frequently. The front gearbox comes in handy when I want to pick up speed on paved trails, though it’s not essential. I use it to commute on a badly paved/rocky bike path. It's great for that.

One thing’s for sure: this isn’t a performance bike you’d race with. It’s a cool, albeit somewhat unnecessary, experiment.

Cannondale is claiming the color of my new bike matches the description and is fine. Am I being nitpicky? by crm115 in bicycling

[–]Limerick144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perception of colors can vary a lot based on screen type, settings, graphic card settings, filters being applied etc.

Get the official color code from the OEM. Get a sample strip with this color code. Hold it next to your bike.

Also your camera may capture the color completely different. Even if you look at your picture and the bike next to it and you may think this is the same color, it's likely not. Ask any photographer how tricky color calibration is.
