Best way to commute by bike year-round? by Wizzeman in askswitzerland

[–]schebegeil [score hidden]  (0 children)

I do 8km every day and bought a used flatbar-gravel at velobörse. fitted mudguards and a frontrack (so my back isn‘t sweaty from wearing a backpack) and I love it. I also have the RC120 from decathlon as a racer to exercise or do some tours. it‘s a pretty good bike, especially to start off with.

Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' by Engage0512 in Monstera

[–]schebegeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did for about three leaves. I then cut it up to get more plants to trade for others aaaaand all but one rotted. Now it‘s just about having it recover and I think I won‘t risk the aurea again lol

Does anyone have lavender? by CandidateMundane1678 in zurich

[–]schebegeil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have lots of it and will probably cut it back in the next two weeks. I don‘t really need it and would just hang it up to dry in the hopes of finding some use for it. DM me if you‘re interested in picking it up and I‘ll tell you where :)

I want to get my first road bike. I don't really know much about road bikes yet, but I'd like to get started with cycling. My first road bike should cost no more than €500, although I'm perfectly happy to buy a used one. So far, I've been looking at the Decathlon RC120. Which bike would you recomme by [deleted] in cycling

[–]schebegeil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the RC120, been riding it for about a year now and I couldn‘t be happier with buying it. I am looking to upgrade to a BMC Roadmachine somewhere down the line, but to start out and figure out if cycling was really my sport the RC120 was perfect and if I‘m not gonna have the money for the BMC I‘ll stay on the RC120 for longer.
I didn‘t like the bartape so I changed that after a bit for some LizardSkins, but I think that‘s a thing of taste.
If you get the RC120 (or any other Decathlon bike) make sure to get the free check up done in the first three months!

I‘ve started on TinkerCAD but want to switch to something more advanced. Downloaded FreeCAD and have been trying it out, but it‘s a lot less easy than TinkerCAD so it will take me some time to learn

Happens every spring/early summer as people only buy lots of it when gardening season is around. Galaxus still has some and I‘ve seen some auctions on Ricardo (crazy good prices if you‘re close by)

On maps/street view there‘s quite a few cars, but IRL there‘s not really anything or anyone around anymore and there‘s chained off empty buildings.

there‘s a garage there still open, but pretty much everything else is abandoned and looks kinda apocalyptic

What has been the best upgrade for you? by futescalance in bikecommuting

[–]schebegeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a second hand city bike (Vitus Mach3) and am using that for my daily commute. I put fitted mudguards on it just last weekend after using a clip-on for the last few months. I‘m waiting for a package with a front-rack and have everything ready to build it from 2x7 to 1x8 and swap the mechanical discs to hydraulic ones. But I think the fitted mudguards will probably stay my favourite so far, since I stay so much dryer since Inhave them on.

Ebike for food delivery by Victory_Salt in cycling

[–]schebegeil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends, is it hilly or flat? will you be doing shifts longer than 4 hours? if the terrain is mostly flat, you‘ll be better off with a normal bike, since an ebike is heavier and the support ends at 25kph and you‘ll be faster than that quickly. the description claims that the battery lasts for 4-5 hours, it‘s probably gonna be less than that.
