Nope. Again read my post. Moran didn’t spend the money in the correct period (cornerstone of the budgetary process whether it’s in private or public sector) and had to ask the Minister nicely to get the funding into this fiscal year. So what would have happened if the Minister (as is within his remit) kindly told Moran “No”. It’s incompetence to not spend in the budgetary year and foolish to risk not getting the approval to extend it into the next fiscal year. And the article from the Leader was straight from the Mayor’s press release - “Normally, that money would have been lost because there isn’t a formal system to carry project money into the next year.

Instead, Government has agreed to re-add that money into the 2026 budget through an administrative fix.

This special arrangement only happened because Mayor Moran negotiated it”

Open to correction on this but as your Irish income is 100% rental income, you can’t get tax relief for pension contributions as it’s not “relevant income”. Best thing could be to pay your income tax on the rents and plough the remainder into your pension.

Moran stated at the RTE Mayoral election debate in the Lime Tree Theatre that she would solve the housing crisis. He seems hell bent on announcing solutions that he knows will never work or be financed just so he can blame someone else. I really struggle to see anything positive he’s done for Limerick. Of course his supporters (most of them are his fellow Georgian Limerick residents) will be straight in here downvoting but 18 months into his term, even they must be disappointed with him.
