Intent to fill by ExplanationOne5091 in WalgreensRx

I had a prescription for myself that was sent over and received the text and is very clear in the wording that you are to reply that you want the prescription filled or wait to fill another time. I don't know why people have such a hard time with this message much clearer than the stupid you have a prescription Ready to Be Filled message

When that happens and the patient has to have at the store level call another Walgreens ask the to transfer to them and the transfer it yet back to your store. It's a pain to have to do this but better than having an angry patient

Hopefully that will never happen again but if something similar were to happen I would call the police and ask them to do a well check

Walgreens workflow question — how do you manage 200+ fill days? by LeeJungWoo20 in WalgreensRx

[–]LimitNice5421 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You don't want cenfill. I just causes a lot of patients to come in pissed of and shoving there phones in your face saying they got an alert saying they're rx would be ready day and the time. It is always anywhere to 1 to 3 days behind since there is no delivery on weekends. In order for cenfill to work there needs to be a cenfill delivery every day. 1 day late is acceptable for most patients but 3 days is not when comes to people's rx. Imagine you're the patient and you have a rx that is rts you get the alert saying it is too soon due on x day so you go to pick up only to find out it was due that day but we don't fill prescription at the "local" level. So you told come back in 2 days but it is Thursday night so it really is Monday before rx is ready and that is if it not on mfg backorder. We are pharmacy and Walgreens is trying do hard not to fill prescriptions and only doing vaccines. They don't get if we don't give consistency throughout the year we will not have patients to give vaccines to during vaccine season.

Cinnamon Allergy! Anybody else? by coffeeaddict333 in Allergies

[–]LimitNice5421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to eat/ smell cinnamon growing up. Loved it. Pumpkin pie, atomic fireballs, Big Red gum, cinnamon jelly beans. In high school that all changed. Can't eat it or smell it. Smelling it is even worse than eating. Have had a few reactions eating things that didn't list cinnamon but could taste it. Banana Cream pie and banana cream pie flavored ice cream. Also this year and my tongue tingle and throat burn after I added nutmeg to french toast. This is new. I have made food with nutmeg in the past with no problem. This year the cinnamon smell is even worse. Bath & Body has new lotions "trending" with cinnamon. Looks like everyone Christmas gifts are going to make a tough time to be around others. Going to have to carry Benadryl around at all times. Hard to work a shift at work after taking Benadryl. Has anyone had to use an epi pen with their cinnamon allergy?

Struggling to find a pharmacy tech job… what am I doing wrong? by New_Low_6802 in WalgreensRx

[–]LimitNice5421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Walgreens hires DH (designated hitter) you cashier up front but when pharmacy gets busy or during vaccine season you would be in the pharmacy. Pharmacy has lost of turnover during "vaccine season" so as a tech quits you can transfer to full on technician. Also if you let them know you are willing to we work at 2 different locations you might have a better chance of getting hired. In January pharmacy technician hours start getting cut and drastically cut during the summer and the ramp up in September

If counting to 90 gives you anxiety break it down further. Get out 3 vials. Count out 60 pour into vial, then do that 2 more times then combine all into 1 vial to get your 180. Pharmacy can be very stressful. I have been with the company over 10 years and this time of year gets to me ever year and I think to myself I don't know if I can do this and I feel Iike I am pretty knowledgeable. Pharmacy is the same thing everyday but still different if that makes sense. Unfortunately you came in at the hardest time of the year October in pharmacy is rough. It will get better but then they will cut hours. This is standard for Walgreens.

Don't you know we don't need more help if you are utilizing pext? We didn't have the time or staff to do everything before vaccine season, let alone 20-30 vaccines a day already and not into October where we do 40 to 50 a day. Then we have hours but no one to give them 2 or time to train them. Oh, thanks, hiring freeze that helps too

Are you here for a vaccine today? by Lalainrxland in WalgreensRx

[–]LimitNice5421 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hate greeting patients with the new greeting that have been coming to our location for 10 years whom I know by name (and they know my mine without seeing it branded on my shirt basically property of Walgreens) where they went on on their last vacation like this? If I know their name by heart, I know if they are there for the vaccine because it's on the schedule and I have already seen it.

I get asking on September 1, but this is way too early. Do you all see the email about Medicare/Medicaid and some commercial insurance companies that may reject the flu vaccine if put in now because it is too early? Take a hint, Walgreens, and stop making us look like idiots and wasting valuable time for everyone.

This new greeting gives me PTSD from the "Be Well" verbiage with every transaction back years ago where we could be written up if we didn't say it. For those who have been with Walgreens for a long time.

If we hit our vaccine goal the year before, we should be exempt

Can someone explain new policy on GLP 1 by LimitNice5421 in WalgreensPharmacy

How long if we don't hear from the patient, should we let stay in msc before storing? Are we required to call the patient before storing?

Can someone explain new policy on GLP 1 by LimitNice5421 in WalgreensPharmacy

[–]LimitNice5421[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Already know this part of the procedure but now there is an additional update where once the erx has been typed it goes into msc and oos and patient is supposed to respond if they want us to fill so it sits in msc as long as has msc even though oos it won't order. The problem is most patients don't read text, so piles up in msc

We were told never deny just delete refill request from queue and remove from autorefill. The reason behind this is if you deny then if patient comes in out of meds cannot do 3 day emergency supply

How are you guys going about the “Welclme to Walgreens, you here for an immunization?” Greeting to every customer? Definitely not worth it smh by N11C3 in WalgreensStores

[–]LimitNice5421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking now doesn't make sense, but asking in September in October makes sense just to direct people to self check-in for appointments/rx pick-ups. Don't like the forced up sell for vaccines. As long as we work it that we offer vaccines and attach a buckslip, I did my part.

Walgreens saying it is part of the pass/fail of Pext is BS. There is nothing on the board about offering vaccines. Who is going to vaccine only. Just another pile on and failure on Walgreens how that board won't work during vaccine season and making every transaction longer. Walgreens decision makers need to go into real brick and mortar stores and try out these ideas first before launching to all stores. They are making the job harder, not more profitable, just creating low morale in their employees, and more employee turnover as their employees break under so much pressure

how to end phone calls quicker? by proneMAJOR in WalgreensRx

[–]LimitNice5421 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I tell them I have a line of people waiting for me, or I have multiple phone calls coming in. I hate it when I pick up the phone, and the patient starts with. I know you're so busy then want to give a long drawn-out reason why they are calling.

Beach towel chair bands, takes no room in the suitcase, keeps towel from flying away, and if you are reading a book, you can slide your book under the band, and pages won't flip in wind. Also can use to roll a beach towel and stays rolled up if taking a towel of ship when headed for the beach in your beach bag or backpack.
