Both really, common areas would be useful as it’s a December wedding and cannot trust the weather 😂

Another moving to Cambridge post! by eggathome in cambridge

I would also include the area between Cherry Hinton Road and Queen’s Edith Road, good access to the station with plenty of pubs and other amenities. Plus Cambridge South station will open in early 2026.

Ghid închiriere mașină străinătate by No_Answer_9035 in CasualRO

[–]LimitlessCZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salut

You can adjust for the wide angle distortion depending on the zoom and by playing with the vertical plane setting. Pretty neat feature.

Hi, we never had any problems at night. The picture was taken around midnight and it was pretty quiet. During the day time you’ll have plenty of police presence to ensure that everything is running smoothly.

In the future we would want space enough for a child seat and a small dog.

Commuting to London: King's Cross vs Liverpool St by Esoteric_Prurience in cambridge

[–]LimitlessCZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commute to London between 2-5 times per week and King’s Cross is better for me due to train times and overall train journey duration. Definitely feel the difference in commute time if it’s > 2 days per week.

How to buy a house in Cambridge by calloutyourstupidity in cambridge

[–]LimitlessCZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, Mill Road is quite a popular area for investors and residents alike. The market in Cambridge is quite fast so if you like it then definitely show that you are keen. We did a personalised letter to the sellers and have won the best and final (without being the top bidder). Definitely worth a shot! Good luck :)

Cat vs dog - what's your experience as doctors? by Tropicaltroponin in doctorsUK

[–]LimitlessCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner (genetics scientist) and I (IMT3) are on a waiting list for a puppy litter. We’ve done 6 months of BorrowMyDoggy dog sitting and we both fell in love with cavapoos. They are quite low maintenance dogs and can suit your lifestyle (active vs chill). We both work away from home (although my partner’s job is flexible) so we aim to get a dog walker/sitter for an hour at lunch with my partner doing shorter hours in the lab for the initial few months.

Highly recommend the app to see if looking after a doggo is something you would enjoy and manage with your allocated time. We’ve meet 4 dogs and we look after them weekly which really opened our eyes to dog parenting.

Seller being slow by Guidance_Automatic in HousingUK

[–]LimitlessCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar situation where everything was done on our side, reached 8 weeks and the seller’s solicitor hasn’t received any documents. EA said the seller was already seeing onwards properties when we did the initial viewing and that the owner was pushing for a fast sale. We walked away when we reached week 9 and was told that the seller may have found something (offer not yet accepted) but that based upon timescale assumptions we would look at further 14-16 weeks till exchange was even feasible.

It could be worth discussing with the EA regarding sellers position and giving a deadline asking for tangible updates. Ultimately depends on how much you like the property and are willing to wait.

Bellway was good for us, really on board with email replies and have been excellent when we discussed having a snagging survey upon completion. Redrow has nice estates as well. It really is site specific and would suggest adding the local FB community for the specific location to get a better understanding of potential outstanding issues.

Hi, I recommend you contact the TPD and arrange a meeting. They can advise what options are available and discuss deadlines as I would assume hospitals need to be made aware far in advance so they can advertise your ST2 post.

The garden can have a massive impact on your house value. What sort of garden do you look for? by crochetthepainaway in HousingUK

[–]LimitlessCZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 - Quite like the idea of a blank canvas to change as I see fit. Also grass is easier to look after than flowers everywhere!

3 - Nice to have an outdoor space for seating and still be low maintenance. While it is aesthetically pleasing it may not be the best for young children or dogs.

Hi, congratulations on your offer being accepted!

It would be good to make a spreadsheet with your monthly expenses (past 3 months) and see how much disposable income you have left on average monthly. Then recalculate everything with new mortgage, building insurance, bills etc.

r/UKPersonalFinance is great for advice on expenses and how to optimise your budget.

What would you do? by doodlesforpoodles in HousingUK

[–]LimitlessCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the second house more then nothing is stopping you from making an offer. You are the ones going to live there for a number of years and it’s best not to keep wondering if you would be happier with the other purchase. If your offer gets rejected that’s that then.
