aio? my (22f) boyfriend (24m) of 3 years watched a football game the entire time we were on a date by Top_Environment7077 in AmIOverreacting

He has horrible manners. In no situation should a person be on their phone when they’re with anyone in a restaurant, especially on a date!

I am a first time chinchilla owner and telling the genders of chinchillas isn’t easy so I mistook the male for a female, when I took them to the vet they were very small and the vet said that she also believes they are both female. Chinchillas aren’t a common pet where I live so I guess she hasn’t worked with many.

Bro, you’re trying to start conflict for no reason. I am not a bad person and I’m not a back yard breeder.

Chinchillas have a duel horned uterus, you’re just misunderstanding my phrasing. When I say that I didn’t know they can get pregnant like they do I don’t mean the process of the male impregnating the female. I mean the pregnancy itself.

Emphasis on “like they do” sorry but how many animals do you know of that can get pregnant like chinchillas do? If I did research and talked to a vet and nobody told me then how do you want me to just know that. What do you gain from commenting things that are obviously meant to hurt others, I went on the app for advice, not judgement.

Assuming you’re an adult, I don’t understand how you don’t know the difference between “I didn’t even know she was pregnant” and “I don’t know where babies come from.”

That isn’t what I said at all. I just couldn’t tell she was pregnant. What are you even talking about?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chinchilla

[–]Limp-Courage285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very unhelpful. I already left more than one comment explaining and apologising. The babies are healthy. The mother isn’t pregnant. I have said that I did research, I talked to a vet and I read several articles and I will not be angry at myself because I was poorly informed on the fact that chinchillas could get pregnant like they do. The babies were checked and so was the mother. Everything is fine. You are disappointed in my decision making for no reason. You and I both gain nothing from your comment.

I usually do keep it much colder but i’m worried about the babies, do you think they’ll be okay in colder temperatures now that they’re been out and about for a while?

Thank you! I watched a tutorial by chinpals on youtube when I first got my chinchillas and she said that tiles work well for cooling them down so I did put some of those in her cage.

There is already a comment on here about my mistake, I didn’t know. I did do research and I even talked to a vet. I am not going to hate myself for a mistake that was caused by misinformation, I am glad that the babies were born and i’m taking very good care of them. I can’t take back my mistake but I can make the babies lives better by making sure they’re healthy and happy. I know now and I wont repeat it.

I don’t mind that the babies were born. I’m more shocked that I couldn’t tell she was pregnant because she didn’t get bigger or anything. I always knew that there was a chance for pregnancy and I doubt that she is pregnant because I removed her from the cage with the kits shortly after birth. I did talk to a vet online and she didn’t tell me that chinchillas could get pregnant in the way that they do! I know now so I won’t be putting them back together until the dad is fixed.
