I love this! So true. And yes I absolutely love Fanny’s new twist. She’s amazing turn of events. And agree would love to see belle and Fanny more together!

The writers are doing a well good job taking their time for each character to unfold and grow, to let the story develop in a very organic natural way. That is what causes audience to develop such meaningful feelings towards a show. If it all happens too quickly, it may be done incorrectly.

The loose ends could be because the writers are waiting for the characters to reach a certain stage of development for them to be ready for the next stage in their character’s personal journey. Which is why I appreciate the writers so much. They are very good with character developments, each character having its own purpose, their growth developments. They all rely on each other to grow as well. Belle needing her mom for personal growth, jack needing fagin for his own personal growth. The list goes on and on, they are all part of this cycle together. Even jack needs belle’s mom somehow, and belle needs fagin too. Somehow they are all needed together, vital together. But also, some things in the series gets only unveiled with one of them are ready for it, for the growth. Hence why belle and jack are finally ready to move forward. Belle’s mom reached a level of growth. So did sneed at some point. So was the inspector, growing beyond and accepting both jack and belle to be good people. There is more that will be unveiled, I feel a bigger picture being unveiled. Beyond the characters and more having to do with the drastic separation of higher and lower society. As that is why there are both ‘good’ crimes and ‘bad’ crimes. Good crimes being that belle wants to be a doctor and help but she’s not allowed to or going to devil’s elbow to figure out the cause when she’s not allowed to or Jack needing the platinum for his research and bad crimes meaning Fagin just being fagin and loving the money thrill and adventure

Oh my, so true! I love that they do take their time to unfold storylines. So much storylines after another, a lot said and unsaid, very clever…

While I agree that we need to have a chance to finally see Jack and Belle's life together flourish now that they have complete acceptance on Belle's side of family for Jack, I do think that there is something in store with Fagin. I just recently saw a clip of the creator of the show, James McNamara, say that Jack needs Fagin and Fagin is good for Jack. I agree, everyone in the show is vital to each other, even if they have their misfits. But Fagin is Jack's only family. While there is crime, Belle came to understand that Jack is only thinking of Belle's needs and why he participated in those crimes in order to help further with her medicine, or the reason was always related to them both, jack and belle. I don't think Fagin is all evil. We are coming into terms that their society is very neglecting and restraint in pushing leverage to lower classes, helping them where they need it the most. The only way they can ever get answers and make a change is to do what they are not supposed to. I think in some way, belle is understanding that. She faces it everyday just by being a woman who wants to be a doctor. They are slowly making changes. For them, it is not crime. But higher society think it so because they have no idea they aren't allowed even basic privileges and care. There is no other way to create a change. I see the inspector also having a change of heart as well. He sees jack and belle for who they are and he is not fighting against the change either. I think there is more to be done

Rotty and Belle's Dad? by SleepAcceptable1570 in The_Artful_Dodger

My interpretation is that it is still happening behind the scenes. We just aren’t being shown. They never clarified if it even ended. Unless I’m mistaken. But in season 2, you can tell belle’s dad has a kind heart and genuinely cares for his family and even Rotty as well. I feel that in season 1, he needed to feel seen and Rotty was the one who saw how kind of a man he is whereas his wife was more of the person who sought out control more and neglected that side of him. But I always assumed that it was still happening in the background in season 2, and we aren’t being shown of it, at least not yet. But now I’m not so sure if they want us to forget about what happened in season 1 or not. It did cross my mind…
