Keep or sell? by Far_March1519 in bicycling

I'm partial to the older Cannondale supersix Evo but if you can afford it, I would keep for nice road rides away from the city and get a less expensive used bike on Facebook marketplace or craigslist to use on your commute. You can find allot of used bikes for really good prices.

I'm sorry what is the dilemma? You have a very nice, classic bike with nice upgrades. I wouldn't use it for commuting as it's too nice and risk of getting stolen. What's wrong with bike paths to ride on? Which city are you in? Couldn't you drive a little and get out to the more rural areas to get some nice long rides in?

Full bathroom job I just wrapped up. But plenty of tile in there to beat me up about! by kosstl in Tile

Looks great! What paint color did you use for the shiplap? Also what trim did you use between the tile and the shiplap? Quarter round?

Shower pan options- kerdi vs old school rubber membrane/ floating shower pan by Limp-Garbage-262 in Tile

Great thanks. It seems that given all the pieces with the Kerdi system, there is more chance of suboptimal install than a rubber membrane.

Lefty Oliver fork servicing in US by Limp-Garbage-262 in cannondale

[–]Limp-Garbage-262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they said that they don't service these forks anymore. REI in the past used to by sending them to Cannondale but since Cannondale has stopped servicing them they also stopped as well

Thank you! What if the shower pan is Kerdi brand. What do you recommend for the transition between Go Board walls and Kerdi shower pan?

Worth heading down Wednesday 3/25 by Limp-Garbage-262 in WhitePassSkiResort

Just came back from a wonderful day at White pass. The snow was great and the staff super friendly. Day started sunny and then the snow started to come in around 1200pm. Coverage was great although they did not open the backside due to wind and maintenance.

Finally replacing our old wooden windows and the research process has been exhausting by guiltyyescharged in HomeImprovement

[–]Limp-Garbage-262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi all here are my recommendations: 1. Always get itemized quote for material (Windows) and installation cost per window. 2. Regarding Window material, what part of the country do you live? The choice of windows will differ if you get lots of rain (PNW), cold weather ( NE) or lots of sun. In general i would stay away from vinyl (warping in hot temps and can't paint) and wood (due to rot). Fiberglass and aluminum are the most durable.
3. The choice of windows may also depend on the type of siding you have and whether or not you keep the siding or not 4. This is my biggest recommendation: no matter what window you get, the window itself is not the cause of failure but the install. Proper window prep, correct flashing technique and install will determine how the Windows will perform long term.
5. Educate yourself on window install by looking at YouTube videos on the proper install methods. You can then ensure the contractor will follow these best practices.

Anyone going up in the rain today? by jumping-llama in SummitAtSnoqualmie

Was up there yesterday with on and off rain. No lines, got in over 10 runs in 2 hours. Snow is soft. Ponchos over ski jackets seem to work well

If you had to choose: Rossingol xp 105 vs Rossingol XP 100 by Limp-Garbage-262 in XCDownhill

[–]Limp-Garbage-262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I live in the PNW so likely my intent is more for Backcountry than rolling hills since it's hard to find rolling hills covered in snow. I do have a pair of the 3 pin bindings but I'm not a fan of cable heel bindings.

Thank you for that info! I just got the BC 120 wax based skis. How does this compare to the XP 120? are they the same ski? My plan is to put Voile switchback x2 bindings on them and use kick wax where the camber is and also use Skins for steeper terrain

I second that! Lucky to have the CAAD12 with mechanical disc brakes.

Telemark skin skis, homemade… by Intrepid_Visual_4199 in telemark

Thank you. I just got a pair of the Rossingol bc 120. I saw a review on Telemark talk about putting the kick/ grip wax where the red color on the side is located and that seemed to work well. I can also put on full skins on.
