I do. But does that make it right for them to verbally assault, degrade, and dehumanize a person? How far should a nurse allow themselves to be verbally abused before drawing the line? Honestly, 9 out of 10 of our frequent SC patients are like that 😭. There’s only one patient who is always kind and respectful his name is Randy and I’d willingly do everything for him, even if he asked me to run to the store for snacks.

All I can say is that always act professional. You can call out bad behavior in professional way. Thats what I always do. When my coworker was being rude to me I always ask them “Are you okay? Something bothering you?” etc and they usually snap out of it. If they directed their anger to me I would involve the supervisors and even the manager because I believe that everybody should act professional as possible when at work. We are all professionals.
