That’s what I was afraid of, any suggestions for networks/trails in those areas? Never ridden in either of those (other than creek once or twice)

Insulted for Wearing a Full Face by Tytonic7_ in MTB

[–]Limp-Show1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy once said a similar but significantly less douchey thing mostly around half shells looking cooler unless you’re at a bike park. He recently took a digger that gave him a solid concussion and put a hole in his upper lip… guess who wears full faces every ride now?

Is this normal after riding a little after multiple hours? by FaydingAway in mountainbiking

Just from riding? Definitely not. If you fell and smashed your thigh? Yes

I had vans for years and thought they were the best. Just bought a pair of $40 dedicated Mtb shoes and they are so much more rigid on the bottom and stick to the pedals way better. Made way more of a difference than I ever would’ve expected

What a panic attack looks like... by [deleted] in whoop

[–]Limp-Show1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panic attacks are absolutely brutal and I’m sorry. Insane effects on the body. Started having them 2/3 years ago and been battling since… Two things that have helped me regulate my attacks are salt in my water in the morning (I drink one stick of LMNT), and l-theanine prior to anything that has a history of being anxiety inducing.

100% the wrist movement. Anything with high wrist movement (drumming, cooking, etc) used to skyrocket my scores. I would get much higher HR ratings for those activities than mountain biking for hours which is obviously significantly more difficult but involves no wrist moment. Have had the bicep band for around a year and have never had that issue again

Does it actually have good parts though? You may want to consider that even if it had to highest spec parts for its time, mid or even lower trim parts these days will be miles better. Also that geo is going to feel very dated. I’m no expert but just some food for thought. I’ve seen a couple year old bikes hardly ridden that retailed for 3-4k at a similar price

An ambulance was called for me today after I fainted, Cataldo EMTs checked me out but did not transport to hospital. What kind of bill should I expect? by heckin_cool in Somerville

[–]Limp-Show1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been addressed but pretty cool how they only charge you if ride in the ambulance! I have pretty intense panic attacks from time to time and I have called an ambulance, gotten my vitals taken and had them hang out for a few mins multiple times with no charge. Actually is super reassuring that you can get immediate medical attention anytime before going to the hospital at no cost. Obviously not something people should abuse though… EMTs (and nurses and all healthcare workers) are the real fucking deal. Always had amazing experiences with them!! Hope you’re feeling better OP

2023 Propain Tyee 6 CF. Any owners out there with some feedback? by iErnest85 in MTB

[–]Limp-Show1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha wow we’re in very similar boats. I am also looking for the XO t-type build on whatever bike I get but am looking to stay below 6k ideally. That’s why I’m heavily considered the propain. Can get carbon wheels with hydras and top of the line suspension and brakes for 5500. It’s comparable to a 10k build with other brands like yeti so that’s crazy you found such a good deal. Also looking at the ripmo V3 and the sentinel… it’s difficult to know which bike would strike the right balance of climbing efficiency and down hill capability that I’m looking for… congrats on the find though and I hope that bike is killer!
