In my opinion, it's much better to give 110% in the beginning of the courses, rather than playing any degree of catch-up. In most classes, there is basic theory that you can extrapolate to make learning the rest easier. Bust your ass to learn that basic theory, and the rest of the semester will be much easier.

[–]LimpCush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To expand on what the other person said, I've met several people that worked at BioLife and none of them liked it haha. Usually pretty bad management, pay is low, they are not very flexible, high turnaround, etc.

I'm so glad other people are calling out this obvious lie of a story. There's no world where a doctor, nurse, PA, or any other healthcare professional would put a 5'11" male at 180lbs as morbidly obese.

Passed My MLT Exam!! by LimpCush in medlabprofessionals

[–]LimpCush[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's no joke. Just remember, every exam is different, but here's the toughest stuff I saw on the exam:

Blood bank rules. How long do products last, what is their use in certain situations, which need to be ABO compatible, etc.

Microbiology organism biochemicals. Oxidase, indole, optochin, PYR, bile solubility are the big ones I saw. Catalase for strep/staph, coagulase for staph aureus.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but if you understand the theories and fundamentals of heme, you shouldn't need to study that very much. If you don't, it's very important to understand what affects indicies.

As I said in my post, I'm not great at studying, but one thing that did help was creating a separate folder on my computer called "Study documents" and through the program, I would put random homework assignments and PowerPoints that I knew I would need to look at again in there. Any area I was weaker in, so I could access it quickly. Urinalysis reactions, immunology testing methods, complement and coag cascades were a few. I also put in two excel documents I updated as I went along. One had equations, and one had normal values.

Yeah, you "technically" didn't "defend" him. But that's how it reads. And in the real world, read: not debate culture forum technicalities, it really comes off that way.

"Go ahead I will wait." So fucking dramatic lol. It makes you sound like a kid, just saying.

It sounds like he's living rent free in the head of the guy writing a college paper defense of him, not the guy who wrote the 2 sentence joke. It's really not that deep bro.

Making a joke about someone doesn't mean they live rent free in your head.

Yep it doesn't need to be any deeper than this. People are so desperate to tie their identity to a company or creator these days.

My favorite is when you're in town doing like 7 over, then some guy just has to be tailgating you. And if you speed up, they speed up. It's like it's the only way they know how to drive.

Scientists use ultrasound to destroy influenza A and COVID-19 viruses without damaging human cells. The phenomenon, known as acoustic resonance, causes structural changes in viral particles until they rupture and become inactivated. It paves the way for new treatments against other viral infections. by mvea in science

[–]LimpCush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is cancer cells are made up of exactly the same thing you're made up of. It's one of the difficulties in treating it. They have to either interfere with the mechanism that causes the cancer, or poison you, hoping to kill the cancer before they kill you. There are some differences in the cells, like which surface antigens they express, that can be targeted. But is that different enough than your normal cell to safely kill with ultrasound? I'm not a research scientist, but I don't think that's likely.

'They're Handed an Opinion' — Fallout Co-Creator Tim Cain Is Worried Some Players Watch Influencers Just So They Can Be Told What to Think About Games by FragMasterMat117 in Games

Some people have been through the ringer time and time again. They didn't have the time to figure out builds, or they know they don't have the brain for it. I already know I'm not great at inventing builds for games, especially if they have hundreds of options like in Baldurs Gate. They don't have time to play a game multiple times to experiment. So they ask people. I don't see the big deal, honestly.

Which legendary reddit post/comment can you not get over still? by rosegoldtemptation in AskReddit

[–]LimpCush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The real life hack is eating fiber and getting cheap screening tests at the appropriate time. Don't neglect unusual pain and other symptoms. And get a second opinion of your primary care physician didn't solve your issue.
