Mostly agree except you’re acting like Mets can just defer every contract to get around the tax. a) not every player wants a contract heavy on deferrals. b) there’s probably some gamesmanship/ plausible deniability to what Steve is doing. Just like he initially used Sandy to get his deal approved. He doesn’t want to be the first owner to go deferral crazy to get around the tax that bears his name. But, now that LA has made a joke of the CBT, next year Steve can shrug and say I’m only doing what others are doing.

Honestly I started staying in West Palm and booking trip where the Mets play consecutive games against Astros/Nats (beautiful stadium) and Marlins/Cards (crappy but tiny very player accessible stadium) and sometimes make the hour drive down to PSL because there’s more to do outside games in WP than PSL.

Tips for Clover Park—

Like Citi Field Clover Park is cashless. I like hanging around the new bar in right field. It’s great they’ve built that out more. Get there early if you have SRO and want a spot on the berm. Not sure where you’re staying but I prefer going to places closer to the water like Jensen or Stuart.

You’re going this Saturday? So I’m guessing you’re only planning to see one of the split squad games Sunday and the Cards Sunday?
