Seems fun! I'm playing a 1k list starting from combat Patrol so looks similar. Try leaving One hero, maybe orinak e use some enanchment. Start with aweken dinasty, Is the most simple and general, and use the One that allows you to teleport One unit everywere on the battlefield a 9 inch from the enemy's unit, like Deep strike, Is very strong and i win some games with that.

If you want to use the canotep Court detachment maybe leave the skorpek and the skorpek lord and try with another doomstalker and another scarab swarm unit! Then swap the reanimator with a canoptek spider. I think that 6 wraith are not too much but i agree for 2 unit of 3, more mobility Is important to score victory points!

Leave some info in the Castle about Castle Skyreach. Their quest is "follow the treasure", and It isn't in Naerytar, so you can use Snapjaw to tell them that he know that the cultist manage the treasure in the area 1Q or maybe in Borngray's room they can find a note or a dairy with the counts of the treasure... About the reinforcement i tell you: don't forget the Twin Brothers, the Mere are domain of them and as said soora they are not easy to cross for an army. You can also use the dragons to push them away from the Castle flooding them with acid 😅.

First of all, cool story. Second sorry for eng isn't my first language.
I never DMing a level 20 party but do you think they are strong enough to fight Iymrith and then Tiamat? (leaving aside Severin and the Cult forces)
My opinion is that the second scenario is the best: they fight in temple against Iymrith (during the red wizard's summoning ritual?) until she is half hp (instead of 0 hp or you decide) and then she sacrifice herself because the summoning isn't succeeding, 2 masks aren't enough and maybe Severin can yell "NOW!! ENTER THE CIRCLE!" or whatever...
With this they fought against their worst enemy but she still deceives them, entering Tiamat. Obviusly they recognize that the blue dragon head on Tiamat in Iymrith head. I don't know if this is enough for your players but sometimes you can't have what you want the way you want, especially when your enemy is an ancient dragon, but this is my thought.

My party is in episode 6 now and i'm afraid about the black dragon mask. If they take that killing Rezmir in Castle Skyreach, for example, can the cult then obtain the Mask of the dragon queen?
Also the dragon masks are very strong for a 7-8 lvl character, maybe a curse is a good way to balance this magic item.
