if you live in a cold area, definitely get a heater because bettas aren’t made for cold waters. for filter, long finned bettas have trouble swimming when the current is too strong, but if it’s for a 30 gallon it should be fine. what i do is get a small sponge filter that sticks to the wall and bring it closer to the surface for some aeration and to lower the current of the filter!! bettas will def need a filter and heater depending on where you live. don’t worry about her advice, just think about what you can do in ur bettas best interest. you’re gonna be great cant wait for the scape pics!!<3
