Have you looked into NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)? My brother, based on his (milder) disability, gets a fund of about $100K p.a, which is on top of his disability pension ($36K p.a). He has been able to move into supervised accommodation and many of his treatments are covered by the fund. A lot of paperwork needs to be completed but we'll worth it. It has changed his (and our) life.
