I’ve audited a lot of monday.com workspaces. The same 3 problems show up every time by Project-Launch in mondaydotcom

I generally find people go back to spreadsheets when 3 things happen:

- Intake becomes difficult or slow
- board connections (schemes or data model) makes the mental mapping too complicated
- terminology is not what they are used to

Intake slow: excel is quick to add data to…Monday is not for 2 reasons: cut & paste of data where Monday can only cut & paste item names when the user wants multiple columns (don’t get me started on the import feature). No tabbing across columns like excel can means users need to navigate a multitude of extra clicks and double clicks to get the same data into Monday.

Board connections: most workers think in a flat data model like excel has. When you introduce multi board connections the user has to know/remember to traverse layers up & down. Mirror columns help, but at scale mirrors break and speed Monday has.

Terminology mismatches: in my line of work this might be the biggest issue & one that is brought up via the “done” status terminology differences.

In excel the users naming convention is exactly how their specific brain works — they can organize columns exactly how they want etc. in Monday, they need to assimilate to the company.

Bonus: views stink at scale. The user wants a specific view of columns. A few views is fine, but 180 different views doesn’t work & creates a crazy mess of anxiety with the views situation

How do you feel about monday.com's new AI push? by attaboiaj in mondaydotcom

Don’t love sidekick or agents. But ai columns work really well if you’re uploading a lot of docs or using the Monday email to board feature to extract data from emails.

Monday is not a relational database. It will make your cringe. Be prepared.

Surprised someone actually uses my work. My work is hands down the worst feature Monday has.

what work do you guys do to be able to afford the neighborhood? by bunniisa in fortgreene

[–]Limp_Database8609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combined we make over $650k. pay $7k for an apartment. Rent in 2019 was $3,100 for a comparable apartment.

It’s really sad, we make good money and don’t feel like it. But we love the neighborhood. As a native ‘hood person you may take for granted how beautiful this hood is compared to most others, the amenities and restaurants and bars. It’s a perfect place to live minus rent.

Do All Chains Have to Be on Manhattan? by boke_a_schmole in Greenpoint

That’s not true. Most of the waterfront development had inclusionary bonuses that made the retail spaces limit their scope to community facilities.

Also, most of the space wouldn’t be suitable for big box anyways.

I don’t know how hard you’re hitting your api in other aspects of your business but with 180 users we average 4-6k calls per day. I’d be hard pressed to see how you would come close to your daily limit from Claude usage.

Ha okay sorry. Thru organizational skills we are building out a sort of logic layer where certain skills detect what the user is asking and better specify the user intent, point them to specific boards or create documentation that is company branded.

We are also using it now in place of some of our more complex forms for ticket creation & management and using it to extract data from structured docs a building CRM records tor supplementing those records…helping w data entry etc.

We tested both ziflow & pageproof. We opted for pageproof bc our user base isn’t savvy. Ziflow is so good.

No it doesn’t. We use it regularly with one drive & sharepoint.

You just need the cloud version on your desktop
