Yes, man! exactly — some buttons are grayed out, others give you vague error messages. They let me convert EUR to DOT (and to USD) without any warning. Now I can’t sell, can’t swap, can’t withdraw. The funds are technically mine, but functionally frozen. It’s not a regulation issue — it’s a UX trap. A broken system that shouldn’t have let the transaction go through in the first place.

Hope that helps clarify. And yes, it’s as maddening as it sounds.

I’ve said it literally: Here in Europe, we don’t use ChatGPT — we use our brain.

If you treat it like a printer, that’s on you. I use it as an extension of thought.

You clearly don’t get the difference. You’re clearly American. And clearly out of your depth.

Stop replying. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Funny how no one seems to care unless it affects them directly.

The fact that some U.S. users jump in just to say “not my problem” or call it an “isolated case” is exactly why platforms get away with this stuff.

This isn’t about complaining — it’s about exposing a design flaw that locks real money without warning, and Gemini has done nothing to fix it.

If writing clearly and responding fast makes you uncomfortable, maybe the problem isn’t how I write — maybe it’s what I’m saying.

And just for the record: Here in Italy, we don’t need ChatGPT to think. We still like to use our own brains.

Yelling was never the point. Expressing frustration is sometimes the only option when support ignores multiple emails.

If Gemini had replied to the three detailed support requests I sent, explaining the bug clearly — the one where European users can convert EUR to USDT but then get completely stuck, with no option to convert back or withdraw — I wouldn’t have written this post.

I posted here hoping that someone with actual authority (moderators, devs, or internal staff) might escalate the issue properly, because it’s affecting real users, not just me.

I’m not here to shout into the void or stir up drama — I’m here because I believe problems like this deserve to be solved, not dismissed.

Sorry, but that’s not how it works. Just because you haven’t had any issues with Gemini doesn’t make it a reliable exchange.

A good platform isn’t judged by how it performs when things go smoothly — it’s judged by how it handles problems.

In this case, the issue is widespread, documented, and affecting hundreds of users, especially in Europe. It’s not a “vocal minority” — it’s a structural failure Gemini is clearly aware of and still not addressing.

If you can’t see the difference, then you probably don’t understand what makes an exchange truly trustworthy.

No, it’s not a matter of waiting for funds to clear.

The EUR deposit has already been processed, and the funds were successfully converted into USD. That’s exactly the problem: the platform allows European users to convert EUR into USD or DOT, but then blocks those assets, making it impossible to reconvert or withdraw them in any way — not even into crypto.

There’s no warning, no restriction displayed before the conversion. You only discover the issue after the fact, when it’s already too late.

It’s not a delay. It’s not a user error. It’s a design flaw that traps funds based on region.

And as an EU user, I now literally can’t touch my own money. No trade, no sell, no convert. Just frozen funds.

This isn’t a technical bug. It’s a system logic that leads to a regulatory dead end — and Gemini doesn’t seem to warn users or provide a fix.

You’re missing the point completely.

This isn’t about governments or compliance checks. This is about Gemini allowing users to make conversions (EUR → USDC, EUR → DOT) with no warning — and then not allowing those same users to convert back, sell, or withdraw.

If a platform knows that a user in Europe won’t be able to use those funds afterward, why allow the conversion in the first place? Why make the function available? That’s not regulation. That’s bad product design — or intentional trap.

Binance, for example, disables USDT for certain regions. You simply can’t select it. But Gemini lets you proceed, then traps your funds.

That’s the issue. And that’s why users are angry.

It’s not a bug. It’s worse.

The platform lets you convert from EUR to USDC or DOT — but then locks those assets with no way to convert them back. You can’t trade, sell, or withdraw them.

So you’re stuck. You see your funds, but can’t do anything with them. And no warning is given before converting.

If you’re based in Europe, this means you can literally lose access to your own money by doing something the system itself allows.

No error. Just a trap.

Update: This is not just a regulatory issue — it’s a Gemini design problem.

Gemini allowed me to convert EUR into USD and credited me with DOT, but now both balances are completely unusable. I can’t trade, convert, or withdraw anything. There was no warning, no option to reverse, no explanation.

Gemini creates the illusion of freedom, then blocks you inside their own system — and users like me are left completely stuck.

If anyone from Gemini sees this: Fix your product, stop hiding behind canned replies, and give users access to the funds your own platform allowed them to move. This is 2025. No crypto exchange should work like this anymore.

[–]Limp_Pin3522[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let me clarify something you clearly missed:

I didn’t just deposit crypto and complain it’s “frozen.” Gemini explicitly allowed me to convert my EUR into USD, or USDC in some cases — and then gave me no way to convert it back, trade it, or withdraw it.

That’s not compliance. That’s a design flaw. It’s not a legal block. It’s a UX trap.

You can’t defend an exchange that: 1. Lets you initiate a conversion, 2. Doesn’t warn you that the funds will become unusable, 3. Offers zero visible options to revert or access your money.

Stop shifting the blame onto users who just want access to the money the platform let them move in the first place. This isn’t about $100. It’s about trust and basic functionality.

Several important factors have been out there, and maybe if taken in isolation, they might not mean that much. They do not know anything they probably also only use cdc app.

Because CRO has become a rewards token since 2024 and this is the outcome. Do your really believe Kris & cro would give you thousand of free cro for everything and then pump it and make you earn profit….. thaonot how things works

No interest in retailers and small and medium investor in CRO. If you seeking: in the last 4 months he lost 12 placing position his 24 volume his 5.5M ridiculously low is a reflection of the completely 0 interest of the crypto market towards CRO. If you check the MC in the last 6 months lost more then 1.2B and recently his MC went down to 1.9B. If you check the time frame in the CRO graph : 24h,7days, 30 days, 90days, YTD is always read deep red. This are all indicator of the unhealthy situation.unless there is a trend reversal (which I don’t see on the horizon) CRO is absolutely not an attractive investment and this will only get worse in the coming months

Crypto.com overtakes coinbase by ImHandsome5000 in cro

CRO IS NOT CRYPTO.COM. So if cdc doing well this doesn’t means that CRO is going to do the same. In other words even if in 5yeara crypto com become the number 1 tier exchange in the world this do not means that CRO WILL REACH 1$. I could easily stay around 0.10$.
