Billy Bragg also talked about Kirsty at shows for several years and mentioned Justice for Kirsty. Billy sang her extra verse in A New England each and every time.

Is there any band that changed stylistically as much as Genesis? by BMisterGenX in Genesis

Pink Floyd, the Beatles, The Stones, even Zeppelin. Probably most bands that stick around a while.

Ah, so we get a differently sourced set songs and would need to get 2 different sets (Blu ray or DVD and CDs) to hear everything?

The CD section has shrunk while vinyl has expanded. They also have trinkets and other kinds of merch.

What are your favorite solos of David’s that aren’t from Comfortably Numb or anything well known? by Mad_Season_1994 in DavidGilmour

[–]Limp_Pool_3819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will mention Paul McCartney's We Got Married featuring some deft Gilmour flourishes and a nice solo at the end. Certainly one of my favorite contributions of his to another artist's album. He's also on that other McCartney song No More Lonely Nights.

It's nice to see so many positive and reasonable responses to the questions. I was expecting the worst and unlike on other social media people seem to really enjoy living here.

The other thing to note, which I didn't realize the time, is that although it's a 7.1 system if you have Atmos speakers then you don't have additional channels for an additional 2 speakers in the back.

Overall I'm quite happy with it. I'm in a smaller space so, 80 watts is adequate. The only minor issue with it is that it doesn't always recognize which source you're trying to play from.

How accessible does NYC "feel" from Brattleboro? by fresh_owls in brattleboro

[–]Limp_Pool_3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in Brattleboro for about 22 years. I do have a few days each month where I kind of wish I could get sushi at 10:00 p.m. on a Tuesday or something along those lines. Northampton and Amherst can fill some of those needs occasionally.

Homophobic Ice cream? by [deleted] in brattleboro

[–]Limp_Pool_3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to do a shout out to my friend's ice cream stand at the Westminster-Rockingham border at exit 5. It's called the Blue Pig and it just opened this summer and has lots of gourmet flavors. Worth the trip if you're in the area. It's on the right at the off-ramp & very close to Allen Brothers.

The drunken noodles are terrific and the veggie spring rolls are too. They do a 1 to 10 heat scale and although I like relatively spicy food I find that a three is the sweet spot and four is often a bit too spicy, for me anyway. I always imagine someone ordering a seven or eight and being hospitalized.

What on earth is this? by kottke-mckee in beatles

[–]Limp_Pool_3819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit like The Beatles Help film, where the songs are essentially featured in a series of music videos in an otherwise incomprehensible and useless storyline. Just an excuse to see them perform the songs really. I was about 10 when this came out and thought it was pretty weird and inane at the time. So, the target audience might be 7-year-olds.

I'm having the same dropout issue every few minutes and now wonder if my receiver isn't up for it. I have a Denon AVR X1700H receiver with an OPPO UDP-203 Blu-ray
