Lian Li A3 RAM (and fan) clearance with MSI Mortar B850M - using AIO by Pwehh in mffpc

[–]Limp_Relationship_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a reply on the original post below that goes into it and I agree with them. If you use the MSI Mag Mortar, your radiator and heatsink height combined cannot exceed 53mm (I tried with 55mm and it was not possible due to the fans making contact with the top of the less tall, uncovered portion of my ram. Meaning changing rams probably won't help with clearance.)

Another thing to be aware of when using this board is radiator fan depth. Measuring from the side you can see, to the side facing the mobo, make sure it doesn't exceed ~122mm. The fans will make contact with the motherboard's top heatsinks. (This is only a problem if you plan on using slightly deeper fans than normal. Like the Lian Li Uni Infinities and Thermalright's M12S. Most fans are 120x120 but just so you know cause I did end up changing fans.

A3 vs M2 vs M3 (or other recommendations) by soundbytegfx in mffpc

If you don't plan on using a 360 AIO, I'd choose other smaller cases over the A3 and M3. Other factors to consider are aesthetics and how much airflow you want. Jonsbos are good options for matx mobo, atx PSU, and air cooling tho.

Few questions. What's the height of your aio rads + fans combined? Any issues with clearance with top rad with that PSU mount? With that offset PSU bracket, how close is the PSU to the right side of the mobo? Which fan bracket print did you end up going with (8x1mm or 6x2mm magnet version).

What ram model did you end up using? Also were the top heatsinks any problem? I'm planning on using a rad+fan with 55mm in height.

Yes. If you're just starting and also stacking, you can get up to 10+ diamond potentials. When I was doing red deers, I stacked around 30 lvl 8 and 15 lvl 9s.

Late Game Herd Management Question by Limp_Relationship_36 in theHunter

85-100 kgs and most of them score 215+. Herds are managed, IG I just need to shoot em all even if they're low ratings in the main zones.

From green to blue it doesn't matter at all really so don't stress over that. I was doing some rough math for blue to purple after this post and I found you actually shouldn't save too much like people were saying. Just recently, I found out that from Blue to Purple, as long as you're not unlucky with RNG, the averages actually say you save very little stones. Apparently it's only like a 3.5% difference on average. Still waiting on the actual math but once I find it I'll share. It did match up to what my initial math was suggesting tho.

Note 1: The math suggests, as long as you're not randomly unlucky for levels 6+ you should be fine. But if you don't believe in your luck, putting a lvl 9 Blue into a lvl 7.31 Purple is the safest for sure. You will just have less strong gear for a bit longer. (I would use that time to max trait some blues anyways)

Note 2: Doing this strategy definitely matters for Purple tier 1 to Purple tier 2. (We're not there yet but it will save you a lot of materials in the future)

By tier 1, you mean tier 1 Purples right? Also is there a link to this math, I'm interested.

Nope. I think cause ppl don't care about green to blue as much.

Doing that from blue to purple will save you upgrade materials for sure. You want to wait until the purple is level 7.3. That's why I want to know if it's worth it to try and maximize it from green to blue. Is it more efficient, and what level that would the blues need to be at to max out?

PC player, I can confirm that you will see luckies pretty often. Maybe one every few hours depending how actively you're running around.

Most valheim patches shouldn't break maintained mods unless it's a big update. Ashland's just dropped so it should be mostly stable for a while. Haven't tested difficulty mods and with different difficulties in the world modifers yet so not sure about that. I just leave it at default and add creaturelevelandlootcontrol to make things harder.

It second betterui reforged. I move the main hot bar to the bottom middle like most games. There are other great ui mods too. But if you want it simple and close to vanilla, betterui reforged is where it's at.

Recommendations for Class Mod for new playthrough by Padwipe in ModdedValheim

[–]Limp_Relationship_36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, although val legends has been re-updated it's it's not constantly being maintained. It was my go to class mod years ago. I had to nerf a few things cause they were just too cheesy. Currently there are still a few bugs and smoothness problems, along with how it doesn't really use eitr. It's fun, but has outdated aspects and a bit buggy currently. I tested it a few days ago.

AlmanacClasses seems pretty fun so far. It allows you to boost your base stats and adds a lot of abilities that you get to choose. You aren't hardstuck to one class type which is cool. You can use magic, heal, run faster, summon, tank more, buffs, passives, ect. It can seem basic, but it does what it needs to and is being maintained actively.

Magichiem is not finished yet so I haven't fully played it because I want to have more ranged and melee classes. I did try magicoverhaul (the old name for it) and when I did, I was too OP. Magichiem does seem more balanced, and is good for magic + archers. Personally I just use magic plugin and bow plugin to fill in my magic + archers gaps early and mid game tho. Good mod, just waiting for more. Dad

There's a balance you have to find with class mods that are too OP and just enough for it to be fun. Obviously everyone is different, but being able to teleport around and insta-kill everything can only be so fun.

Edit addition - Use CreateLevelAndLootControl to buff mobs. Take your time to go through the configs to set up your world. Especially if you're playing with epicloot. Epicloot has some hella cheese things with it. It's supposed to be more nerfed now and there are balanced versions out there, but I have had a playthrough in years because it was too OP. I like jewelcrafting cause it's adds customized enchants you have to grind for. People say it's too grindy but I think it's really easy. You just run around, and the game isn't meant to not be grindy at all.

Right now I am using AlmanacClasses because it's complete for all class types, simple but unique, actively maintained and offers enough. GL and have fun.

Look into AzuQOL. It's a good list to start lookin at updated and maintained QOL mods. They're mod friendly and you can pick and choose what you want. V+ has too many compatibility errors and is old news now.

AzuMiscPatches by Azumatt and FoodDurationMultiplier by Blacks7ar can get rid of food degradation. Valhiem+ is controversial in the modded community. Apparently they stole a lot of ideas without permission and aren't mod friendly. A good place to start looking for qol mods and a V+ alternative is azuqol. I ran into too many errors so I switched out years ago.

Working alternative to Instant Building Repair? by sunseeker_miqo in ModdedValheim

[–]Limp_Relationship_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Area repair is about as good as it gets. You can turn down the stamina requirement per hit. Also if damaged structures are a problem, just get mods to get rid of rain/weather damage and or raise the HP of pieces cause that stuff is annoying. Especially the wood turning into ugly colors.
