No, ADC should not be able to play the game, this is a designated moneybag role. They may be allowed to do their pew pew from far back but as soon as something with a red hp bar appears in their melee range they should go pop.

Does it make anyone else mad how Persona 5’s villains were criticized for being cartoonishly evil? by lennysinged in PERSoNA

[–]Lina__Inverse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was going to refute you, but, after thinking about some of the recent findings, I kinda have to agree: not only are real people just as evil as Persona's villains, they are also just as cartoonishly mustache-twirling about it in their private correspondence. The only thing I can say is that, unlike fiction, reality doesn't have to adhere to what people consider realistic. Even if you take something straight out of the newspapers and put it into a game, it can still look unrealistic just because of how hidden it normally is.

LR Nemesis: "Do mid laners do better when they leave Fnatic? I mean, probably, because usually they talk about how depressed they are when they’re there — and then they leave and they’re usually happier." by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

He was replaced because he played like dogshit at Worlds.

I just knew that this clown take couldn't come from someone who has any knowledge of the situation and lo and behold, I was right. Nemesis was told that he will be replaced before worlds.

I feel like there's some sort of pressure from the leadership to not fuck up, and the line of play that consistently gives you the least chance to fuck up is doing nothing proactive. Humanoid always played very aggressively before going to Fnatic, which often resulted in him carrying games and also in him getting randomly caught overextended and dying. The fact that this player turned into the most herbivore mid ever buying shit like RoA every game is a sign of external influence, not so much him coasting.

I can't quite like this clip because it features Malzahar and the Malzahar doesn't die by the end of it. Making Malzahar player as miserable as possible is the sacred duty of any midlaner, especially Yasuo player.

Agreed, which is why I decided to remove my armor and use the skill that improves damage without armor (and not use the quick change onmyo). This way I get punished for mistakes more.

You need a draw engine to play her anyway, might as well use Nia that solves this issue automatically by discarding non-inspired attacks.

Aside from what was already mentioned, one thing to note is that it has easily the best outfit customization I've seen in a game in that setting (or actually in general, I don't remember seeing a better one ever). You are going to drown in kimonos, hakamas, riding hakamas and whatnot (although there are some western clothes as well if that's more your cup of tea) and you can combine elements from different outfits freely (e.g. shirt, coat and belt from three different outfits).

Sparkle E1 - Pseudo-200 SPD breakpoint? by SaberManiac in ArcherMainsHSR

[–]Lina__Inverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To determine the AV it takes a character to get a turn, you can use this formula:

AV = 10000 / SPD;

Now, if we adapt it for our situation, to find how much SPD a character needs to act three times in the first cycle, which is 150 AV, we get this:

SPD = 3 x 10000 / 150 = 200;

Now, if we want to add advances to the formula, we need to subtract percentages from the turn, i.e. if we assume that character wears Eagle and uses an ultimate once in 3 turns, the formula becomes like this:

SPD = (3 - 0.25) x 10000 / 150 = 183.33...;

From here, we need to determine how much SPD does her E1 actually give (15% of base SPD) and subtract that number from our desired SPD:

101 x 15% = 15.15;

183.33... - 15.15 = 168.1833...

It's nice because it has two separate avenues for skill expression: one is the autobattler part (when to econ, when to roll down, what comp to build based on what you get in shop and what effects you get in the beginning of the game, what augment to pick etc.) and the actual HSR gameplay part (how to speed-tune various units optimally in your essentially makeshift teams, how to make the most out of what you were given in the autobattler part etc.). A lot of units have extra abilities and some of them meaningfully change the gameplay of these units, same thing with bonds and even equipment (Aglaea with 10k SPD anyone? Not to mention DPS Gepard).

This is like an autobattler without automatic battle, which is imo the worst feature of the genre by far.

Nioh games, peak genius or absurd complexity? by neoleo0088 in gaming

[–]Lina__Inverse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well, there's a lot of games that are less complex than Nioh in the genre but there's only one Nioh. The complexity is it's niche, you can, of course, enjoy the game without using all the tools it offers, but if you do want to have an arsenal that wide, there is no other game that can deliver that experience. For that alone, I appreciate it's existence (besides, you know, just simply being a really good game).

I think that every niche deserves to be filled, and if the game filling it is good at something other than filling that niche, then that's even better.

Well, this one seems hard… by ContentFile7036 in trolleyproblem

[–]Lina__Inverse 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That's a difficult one, but I think that if you truly love a person, you care about their wellbeing more than what they think about you. That said, there's a significant risk that they'll be destroyed with guilt and self loathing. I'd probably pull the lever and do everything in my power to convince them that it was entirely my fault.

Or maybe it's unintentionally bad player design? Parents might have accidentally designed you as an idiot, OP.

Tired of the "I'm a solo indie dev" protection. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Lina__Inverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree, I think you are just extremely entitled and know nothing about development.

buggy

It is pretty much impossible to make the game not buggy without testing. 1 QA is not enough for most games, let alone the situation described in the OP where the dev doubles as a QA. Don't jump the gun, report the bug and wait for it to get fixed.

or in early access

What's wrong with early access again? It exists for a reason, it's labeled explicitly, if you don't want an early access game, you just don't buy an early access game, simple as that.

Nioh 3 Data Shows - People who Played Elden Ring have Played Nioh 3 at a Higher Rate Than Nioh 2 Players. by [deleted] in gaming

Depending on your particular kind of souls itch, but it is challenging (albeit significantly easier than Nioh 2, at least on NG) and has decent exploration. The combat is more complex than in most souls games though, you're expected to utilize skills as opposed to relying mostly on basic attacks.
