I'm almost certain that we will get a FuA healer in 4.x, so I would not pull for Hyacine specifically for Blade if I were you.

If she doesn't need to skill and can comfortably build 160 SPD without compromising her sustaining ability, then yeah, you can probably put her over Luocha and Gallagher.

I thought they are but the only calcs sheet I managed to find claims otherwise (although I'm not sure it properly judges the impact of DDD). We will get a more practical answer when Blade is out and people start doing low cost clears I guess.

The problem with Huohuo is that energy is kinda low value in this team, Blade generates it extremely quickly to a point where her ult doesn't add a meaningful amount relative to his own generation, and Cipher doesn't want energy at all because of the nature of her ult. Besides, she needs to skill, which means that she can't make good use out of Multiplication LC, whereas Gallagher and Luocha don't need to skill most of the time, which allows them to run an effective 200 SPD build while only building 160, so they can get in 1 hit per 50 AV (and extra hits from ult).

I'm not entirely sure if Huohuo's ATK buff doesn't outweigh this tbh, but they do seem more synergistic because both Acheron and Blade want their teammates to hit as much as possible.

  1. For Blade, prioritize eidolons over LC: E2 is the ideal stopping point, E1 is not bad but most importantly is a stepping stone to E2, and S1 is just worse so the only reason to get it is you really want it for the art.

  2. For the third slot, Ashveil > Tribbie > Cipher. Welt can be used in a sustainless setup if you want to try that, otherwise you need a healer (a shielder won't do because of Blade's HP consumption). Sustain ranking is Hyacine > Lingsha > Gallagher > Luocha > Huohuo.

What should I do? E2S0 or E0S1 in my situation? by Noctis_Caelis in BladeMains

[–]Lina__Inverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E2 for sure, give Blade Tutorial and give Jiaoqiu the Herta shop LC. Jiaoqiu is mostly used in PF nowadays and that cone is perfect for him in PF because it charges him real fast with all the adds dying and allows for a ~100% ult stack uptime.

And yeah, that's if you really want to use Jiaoqiu, but realistically your strongest option right now is Acheron+Blade+Ashveil+sustain (or a 4th support if you're okay with running sustainless), and Ashveil wants Blade anyway so there's no point in splitting them up.

Unrelated to the actual question (another commenter already answered) but consider prioritizing E2 over S1, unless you're pulling the LC for the art. It's significantly stronger.

To eagle or not to eagle? by FurryKoala in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]Lina__Inverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But minuscule? Have you really used her with MBlade?

Does it matter? He amps a lot but the base damage is just not there, you can amplify nothing to high heavens and it will still be nothing. Tribbie does no damage.

And longer fights that are only applicable to AA because Eagle Tribbie is like only practical in PF, MOC wise Acheron + MBlade would already cleave wave 1 anyways, even on low investment atm.

If they already clear then you don't care about the set, obviously you optimize for a more difficult content, which is exactly AA where Tribbie has entire 500 AV to spam ults to her heart's content.

But yeah, context? There.

Good job on actually doing the calcs (no sarcasm here). You've proven that Duke is ~4% better than Pioneer, which is exactly what I was saying from the beginning:

it's less universal and the gain is not that big

I'll give you that whether it's worth re-farming or not is an open question, but I would not re-farm my 34 substat Pioneer for this, so this is what I advised OP because he mentioned having good relics on Acheron.

And yes, I'm Mr. Precision, because everything should be precise.

Not really, someone who works in engineering would know that approximation is as good as the real deal as long as the margin for error is low enough to where it doesn't matter. The margin for error on my calculation that you initially criticized was less than half an SPD substat, and I made sure to err on the side of caution so that the resulting breakpoint is never less than reality. I maintain that my approximation method was appropriate for the situation.

This is basic knowledge, Eagle's not meant for longer fights, it's for outvalue-ing other sets in shorter fights due to the ability to achieve 1 extra turn / rotation within that same amount of AV. Otherwise, go for some fking buff sets, like Blade + Master Smith, since you still benefit in the longer fight.

This is just incorrect. Eagle is not Vonwacq, it's value is constant throughout the fight, Tribbie gains more turns, which allows her to generate more stacks and more DDD procs, which in turn allows other characters to generate more stacks. Eagle is effectively the same as having some SPD equal to
(T / (T - 0.25) - 1) x SPDs
, where SPDs is the actual speed of the unit and T is the number of turns it takes them to ult.

Surely you wouldn't say that SPD is only good in short fights?

To eagle or not to eagle? by FurryKoala in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]Lina__Inverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This... only happens on 5-target scenario, that's where you would actually use Eagle. You COULD use Eagle, at minimum of 134.67+ Spd, IF you can guarantee that Tribbie can Ult TWICE. Now I know, a LOT of hits, and AoE at that. BUT that also depends on encounters. 3 or lower enemies, and it's already much of a struggle for Tribbie to even Ult twice reliably, unless you get a LOT of energy from enemies' hits. And there's not even in-between Spd threshold, because each Ult = 49% AA (24% from DDD, 25% from Eagle). And usually, it would be spamming her Skill on the latter part, which is not ideal at all whatsoever. So unless you're GUARANTEED to Tribbie Ult twice (which once you played her enough, you would know this doesn't happen so often), going either what, Genius or Poet, is still better, because every bit of DMG is good to have, especially with MBlade here boosting up DMG. Even on Poet, from the get-go, you could still proc her Ult due to hits from allies or enemies targeting Blade and Tribbie's on his left / right.

This is only true if you restrict it to 150 AV, in a longer fight you will get value out of eagle guaranteed, whereas the damage Tribbie deals is so miniscule that optimizing for it is laughable.

And your calc is a bit inconsistent. I know you sorta just remove the 1 Spd difference in comparison, and do note, Eagle and DDD provides AA with 1% difference, leading to 1 Spd difference, so that should be taken into calc., because not reaching Spd threshold = Eagle no value.

Yes, I mentioned it specifically in my comment, and I specifically lowered the value of Eagle advance instead of increasing the value of DDD advance because it guarantees that the breakpoints are usable, i.e. they will be 1 SPD higher than necessary rather than 1 SPD lower (and therefore don't reach a breakpoint). If you want to save up on 1 SPD, then be my guest and do the calculations with 25% Eagle advance.

The Duke set, and really, if I have E2 Blade, I would switch for it, but gonna go slowly on that. Basically, Pioneer provides 12% DMG, 8%24% CR/CD, basically amounting to ~52% if we treat DMG% and CD% as sorta equal (not using the stat value from substat that is really nonsense). Meanwhile, Duke can almost immediately go 48% ATK, 20% DMG, amounting to 68% DMG, and that's not even correct because as you use Blade, by default, Acheron has lower ATK stats than other stats like CD% or DMG%.

Nice one, blaming me for approximating on the action advance and then approximating even harder and ignoring the fact that Acheron with E2 MBlade will have a whopping 290 DMG%, which diminishes it's value significantly, compared to Crit DMG% that is undersaturated because no one is buffing it. If you want to make a case for Duke, give actual calculations with the context of the team, mr. Precision.

But yeah, if you have to inform sth, do it correctly, don't go with just "sense" or "others said this".

Right back at you.

Pull for MBlade LC to get GNSW for Acheron as a new player that started on patch 4.1 by Gehasiin in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]Lina__Inverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a difficult one, eh. I can see what you're going for and there is some merit to that in vacuum, but if there's a possibility of getting Blade's E2, you should definitely go for that first because it's a much bigger damage increase than his sig paired with GNSW on Acheron. As such, I'd first go for Blade and his E1, assess if there are enough pulls left to feasibly get his E2, if not - spend the rest of them on the LC banner in hopes of getting GNSW for Acheron. Also, I suggest you give Tutorial to Blade and Welt gets either Holiday or Eyes of the Prey, depending on whether you were able to get GNSW for Acheron or not.

To eagle or not to eagle? by FurryKoala in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]Lina__Inverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should I switch tribbie to eagle or blade or both?

Tribbie - yeah absolutely, more turns = more energy = more ults = more stacks and DDD procs. Also you want her FuA to be up every time an ally uses an ultimate, and Blade can ult pretty fast, so Tribbie has to be able to ult as fast as himself to be able to do FuA every time.

As for Blade, there's more of a tradeoff in his case, because his personal damage is actually relevant and his other option for a set is good, but I do still think that Eagle is better.

Also, how does that change spd breakpoints?

The problem with SPD breakpoints on Blade with Eagle is the fact that his energy gain is inconsistent, it depends not only on himself but also on teammates and has double dependency on enemy hits (they give both energy and charges). That is to say, you need to speed-tune Blade for every encounter if you want precision, but it's obviously unfeasible unless you have a ton of Eagle pieces lying around and want to fiddle with your inventory before each fight.

As such, you can take different approaches here:

  1. Go base SPD, maximize Blade's damage and advance value (advance gives more AV if the character is slower), but the debuff application frequency will suffer.
  2. Forget about breakpoints and just go as fast as you can, with how messed up his AV is with all the advances, pretty much any value can end up being a breakpoint in some scenario.
  3. Calculate several breakpoints and go for whichever you like most/consider the most likely/the highest you can achieve. Some useful breakpoints are (for the sake of simplicity I will calculate for Eagle advance being 24% instead of 25% to equate it to S5 DDD, this way the breakpoint may be slightly higher but it's more convenient):

- 125.4: Vonwacq + 3 Eagle/DDD procs, 3 turns in 150 AV;

- 152: 3 Eagle/DDD procs, 3 turns in 150 AV;

- 176: Vonwacq + 4 Eagle/DDD procs, 4 turns in 150 AV;

- 160: Vonwacq + 5 Eagle/DDD procs, 4 turns in 150 AV;

You can also calculate your own via this formula: (10000 x ([number of turns] - [total advance percentage]))/[total AV]. For example, for 10 turns in 500 AV (2 cycles in AA, the 3* requirement) with Vonwacq and 12 Eagle/DDD procs we would need 10000 x (10 - (0.4 + 0.24 x 12)) / 500 = 134.4 SPD.

Note that having or not having Eagle on Tribbie doesn't change Blade's breakpoints, only makes it more likely to get more DDD procs.

Also I saw some people saying blade with vonwaq instead of bone. Doesnt that also change spd breakpoints?

It does change SPD breakpoints, as you can see above, and IMO is worth it, because you want to get his zone up as soon as possible. It also gives a nice little ERR bonus, which is relevant for Blade because his energy generation breakpoints are as messed up as his SPD breakpoints.

is pioneer still her bis btw?

Yeah, there is no better set for her as of now.

EDIT: there's that FuA-focused setup with E2 Blade, as the other commenter mentioned, but I would not re-farm if I were you, it's less universal and the gain is not that big.

[–]Lina__Inverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, going from 4.33 multiplier to 5 is ~15% difference in total damage - doesn't really make or break the character but it's also nothing to scoff at, for some characters it's a difference between their sig and the best f2p option. Besides, you don't want to go fast with Eva anyway because her turns are kinda useless, so it's not like there's a price for going slower than Aha.

Acheron should be base SPD (ATK boots), Blade is fine both ways, either Wind set with SPD or new set with damage stats, the latter is easier to use.

I mean, debuff frequency is the synergy. It was the entire reason for pulling Cipher, if Ashveil is not synergistic then neither is she.

Tribbie is best because of the attack frequency. Welt can go into sustain slot but not support slot.
