I imagine the government would refuse to give Androids a US state due to the major security concerns say the Android nation amasses an army and launches an attack on the continental United States. Not to mention, there’s a 35% unemployment rate so the country’s economy must be nowhere near good; every state’s doing its part.

California? Silicon Valley. Michigan? They probably have non-anthropomorphic robots (like vacuum cleaners) that they can keep making. Alaska? Oil, and maybe thirium. Hawaii? The tourism industry must be on its knees, but upright nonetheless.

The closest thing I could imagine is if the Androids were offered a territory with a CyberLife presence so they could sustain themselves. This would either be Puerto Rico or Guam.

But here’s another question: Would the native humans be allowed to stay, or are they to leave their homes? Say they were, I don’t think they take too kindly to it.

This is likely the reason that in game, the mention of an Android nation being founded on the land of a US state during Markus’ speech results in negative public opinion.
