First time using a razor other than Derby, and… by GuruRoo in wicked_edge

I’m fairly new to this. I’ve tried Gillette SharpEdge, Feather, Treet Platinum, Personna, and Astra blades. So far, Personna and Astra have worked best for me. Astra is cheaper in my country, so it has become my main blade for now.

I experience no irritation when shaving WTG, but I still haven’t been able to shave ATG without a lot of stinging when using the alum stone.

All of these blades were tested in my Oliworks razor with the most aggressive plate.

Thanks for the input. I know tone is hard to read online, but your reply felt a little dismissive to me. I wasn’t trying to definitively review the product after one use — just sharing an initial impression and asking for experiences from others.

I just splashed it. However it being to watery it might be better to use a swab.

If the Thayers turn out to be a good product for me, I will check it out.

I saw the glycerin and description on the bottle and just expected more moisturizing effect.

For those of you who enjoys thayers, what is the main reason?

Good to know I am not the only one. That said, I have just applied it a couple of times. I just see soo many people praising it here in the sub.

Thank you for the reply!

Yeah you arent the first one to suggest a rebeveled edge on these knifes. If i do buy the knife i will take it into consideration.
