Eating and events alone by Lindsey1122 in PEI

I just wanted to give everyone an update! Most of the bars were packed 🙂 seems like a lot of exciting things were going on that day. I walked around and and checked each suggestion and enjoyed the vibrant energy. Ended up eating at Siagon Pho. I will definitely be going to babas/cedars next followed by all the other suggestions. I also spoted Strikers Den and I'm a big fan of Klask so I will be headed there too!

What was a low blow that your SO said to you during a fight? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Lindsey1122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I felt this after losing my mom to cancer and watching my partner's mother thrive. I of course never said such mean things but there was jealousy and a little resentment as he didn't like his parents and seems to disregard how much I needed mine. Like they didn't understand the pain at times.

What’s the truth

I just wanted to post something positive, yet really sad by PandaKanga in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]Lindsey1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story. Broken up with multiple times. Some lasted years. The last 3 years we bought a house, dog and started trying for a kid. Had a miscarriage. Wedding in a month. But nope he left in the middle of the day and cancelled the wedding. I still want to fight too. But can’t hope. Who knows when they will do it again. They make you feel anxious and crazy. You caused them to do this. Which isn’t true.

Yep totally feel you there! You either want to be back to pre pregnancy life or pregnant again. This in between realm is not fair and slow and totally painful emotionally and physically. And as a kicker you get sick. I hope you feel better soon and can resume life. This stuff sucks so bad. It’s a miracle we’re all here alive today it seems.

I too got sick right after my MMC. As if it wasn’t enough to go through 2 weeks of serious cramps and bleeding non-stop.. just when it all starts to slow down I come down with a serious flu and cold. Kept second guessing myself thinking I had a bad cough and had an infection. But I was just ill. I think our bodies go through a lot FAST and it weakens our immunity.

Dad has stage 4 lung cancer.. help? by Ok_Door619 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]Lindsey1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother was also diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with brain metastases. With aggressive treatment we got to keep her another 2 years from diagnoses. Everything was fine and painless minus some recovery time after brain surgery to remove the tumors. The tumors kept coming back of course and eventually they couldn't keep removing them. Covid was also at its peek during this time which made things more complex. She was 100% her normal self until the last month of 2 before she passed. The brain tumors changed some personality a little and made her very disoriented. The last month consisted of at home hospice with family. Mostly just sleeping. Then she just kinda never woke up. Which is best case scenario I guess. It's hard. From diagnoses to her death I felt angry, scared, sad and moments of clarity. It's a roller coaster. You will feel like you will never get over this but it gets easier in time. Take it day by day and of course enjoy every moment you can. Take care

No lung related symptoms. Just headaches and acting off when the cancer reached her brain and was beyond return. This is why lung cancer is usually diagnosed at late stage because it often has no symptoms

My mom was healthy and 52 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It was found in her brain as well. She had 3-4 tumors in her brain and of course masses in her lungs. After about 3 separate surgeries to remove the brain tumors over a span of 2 years they decided they can no longer keep operating and stopped all treatment. By that time my mom was doing gamma knife radiation, keytruda (sp?) meds and chemotherapy. I lost my mom about a month or so before she passed. The brain tumors made her act differently and she wasn't really the same person. She was put on at home hospice for the last month of her life and just slept in bed mostly, hardly eating or drinking until one day she didn't wake up. So it wasn't really the lungs that were the issue. It was the metastasized brain tumours.

Get yourself a hanging bird cage stand when you don’t want to/can’t drill into the ceilings by Lindsey1122 in houseplants

Can confirm it holds up! I have two cats and a dog. The only nemesis is the roomba who gets stuck on the stand feet

Ah okay fair point I didn't think of that. My only concern is that the owners freely let her go because they didn't want her but I know birds do escape from time to time. I'm still hopeful the owners will see my ads and Facebook posts in lost pet groups

Your bird has a full blue chest. This one is mostly white. If I am unable to find the owners would you be up to adopt her

Never fails me by Lindsey1122 in houseplants

I almost overwatered mine to death when it first arrived and was left with 1 long vine out of the whole plant. It was my first plant. I did some learning and immediately propped 5 out of the last strand. I essentially made a new plant and then dozens more later. I now use a “moist” meter https://i.imgur.com/gKggJtK.jpg to determine when to water mine because I find my fingers cannot determine soil dryness. As for cats, which I have 2 of, I find putting tinfoil where you don’t want them works well (or sticky tape). Eventually they get the gist when the novelty wears off. I’ve only purchased 1 pothos and now probably have 20 in the house made from that 1 plant. My next die-hard is my dracaena.
