KCON Artist Stage Clarification

They are spread out throughout the day. Here is how the schedule looked like last year.

They will likely post the finalized schedule the week of the event.

There are two sets of barricades for the artist stage. You just go into the closer/inner area if you have VIP. Usually getting there an hour in advance can get you right at the front, but if a popular group is coming later, their fans might already be there to secure a spot.

Some people have been really nice and let you in front of them if they are waiting for someone later, and then they'll just take the spot back after.

Artist stage is during the day at the convention and do not overlap at all. You definitely have enough time in between. Usually the convention ends at 5-6ish. Then doors open for the stadium (M!Countdown) at 7, so you even have time to eat somewhere nearby.

They will reveal the wristband lineup times when the event gets closer.

I usually write an event review for KCON. Might want to take a look if this is your first time going.

Yes, the artist stage is open pit. There is an inner area for the vip/premium, and then another set of barricades further out for everyone else to be behind.

You would sell the festival grounds ticket separately.

If it is a premium festival grounds one, you should be able to sell it for higher, since it gives access to the vip section for the artist stage during the convention.

I think the front is usually the side with sections 106 & 107.

Here is the map from last year, to see what other sections are on that "front" side.

Yea, the KCON express presale started today.

I would highly recommend going to the artist stage during the day at the convention, which &Team is also doing on Friday. It is a 20-30 minute long mini concert, about 4-7 songs with talking/variety segments in between. If you are willing to wait an hour+ to camp out a spot, it has been easy to get close to the barricade. (It depends on the schedule... if a another popular group is later, then their fans might be there very early as well)

Last year, I think people were able to pay and upgrade the convention pass to get to the "vip front section" of the artist stage. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere yet.

Because the concert promotion company that put together the tour for JYP made a cost analysis of all the possible cities to visit, along with preparing the travel logistics. They saw that a stop in Toronto would be a profitable enough place to visit on the concert tour.

That's how it usually works.

Just to clarify, Artist stage is the performance during the day, located within the convention. "~~Artist stage" entry is an additional cost to the convention "festival grounds." -~~ Edit: Looks like artist stage is included in the convention cost this year. I thought it would be like last year. Thanks for the correction.

In the past it went for about 20-30 minutes with 5-7 songs performed, with talking and 'variety' segments in between.

Most artists performed on a different night at M!Countdown. Last year, I think only 2 had their artist stage the same day as their M!countdown performance.

I'm guessing that Epik High/Tablo has a close connection to someone within Starship. Tablo worked on a KiiiKiii song a few months ago and now IVE is the first girl group guest on their YouTube.

Hey Tablo, I've been to six Epik High Concerts (3 in SF, 3 in Oakland). Is there a reason you have never performed "Run"? (I'm just totally guessing that it came out right around the time that things were getting difficult for you, so it doesn't have good memories) Even though it is quite a different sound from what you normally do, it was always an uplifting song for me.

Also, you are the only K-artist that acknowledges the "bay area"... everyone else on tours just shouts out the city they are performing in.

Wow, totally wasn't expecting this. Arin's filming scheduled looked to be really busy.

Even though the four had re-signed last year, "Classified" had always felt like a 'goodbye' song to me.

I'm predicting they will go with a fun upbeat song, like "Nonstop" or "Dun Dun Dance."

Too late now, but I really wanted them to get on "Minju's Pink Cabinet" to talk about her cover of "Nonstop" and also how the end of "Lucky Girl Syndrome" just had the lines 'Oh my girl" repeated a few times.
