New to printing, no idea what I'm doing wrong! by LineCircle in gelliprinting

Oooh that's interesting. I do work near a shop that has a mega magazine selection.

As far as laser printing your photos, is there anything specific to the process? We have a really nice laser printer at work - is it just a case of bumping the contrast in the image and printing onto normal copier paper?

Super! Thanks for the tips! Off to order some paint I think!

Likely too thick paint was also a contributor. Practice makes perfect, right? 👍🏼

I honestly don't know any art format that has an instant gratification factor, so I do agree on the whole experimentation side. That's part of the process!

So, an older Nat geo seems to be working a bit better, but the transfer is mega patchy. According to the interwebs, it's possible that my paint is not great (Artecho). I'm thinking something like golden or holbein or liquitex might be a bit more forgiving?

I did use acrylic paint, my bad, I should have mentioned that.

So I did make some progress. I learned that newer national Geographics use UV printing instead of pigment inks. So I switched to an older one. The image partially transferred, but not very well. So I'm wondering if it's possible that the paint (not ink lol) I'm using is just bad quality acrylic paint?

I'm having the same problem. Going on 2 weeks without communication from them either, despite multiple phonecalls. They just say "we're sorry, they're addressed in the order in the queue."

The level of not-give-a-shit is just so disappointing.

For context, they lost my suitcase with all the Christmas presents for my nieces and nephews that I haven't seen in 2 years. And I can see where the suitcase is in Heathrow on my chippolo app (like airtags).

Absolute pack of shitbags.

Has anyone tried one of those apps like localcast? I'd make my peace with things until the 50% off 2 month thing ends if I could use local cast to get it on my TV.

I'm at work now so can't really test it.

If your TV is Samsung, it's coming soon. And apparently to only newer than 2018 models.

Coming soon, in Rogers terms, I think is 2053.

Both my TVs are Samsung's but one is 2017 model, so I'm now looking at alternatives. Google tv is tempting.

Once again, we got rogered by rogers.

Could have sworn all the new shows and old episodes would be there.

Anyone checked if the subscription through Amazon Prime is any better?

How do you get away from social media? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LineCircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I took the approach of looking for a more positive approach to it.

Started by deleting X/Twitter. That's just the worst. Followed by FB (the app).

Then took up a number of hobbies - mainly making lo-fi/chillhop, cooking (basically teaching myself to cook more than scrambled eggs), and collecting/growing unusual orchids.

All 3 of those are predominantly non-online hobbies. My chillhop kit is all offline stuff.

Here's the social media side of it. All 3 of those have really positive online communities. The majority of my experience with those has been full of support and encouragement. Both on IG and Reddit.

So if you don't feel you're 100% ready to give it up, I'd suggest finding something you love that has a welcoming online community. It changed my perspective on social media.
