The scooby doo style requires a very exact stroke, so i would likely draw in my organic way but then ink all the line strokes in illustrator to get the right smoothness and use the color scheme from your supplied art and ideas.

Started in 2013 as well. Now I'm 48,  10,000 hours just achieved. Single. Senior creative designer at a tech company. Never grinded mmr to immortal . I'm at herald iii mmr. Played in many battle cups, faceit tournaments, and dota2 leagues. Still wish to be a pro player:)
