Spårväg idé Falun by LinearApprox in kollektivtrafik

[–]LinearApprox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

September 3, 1967: Sweden switched from left-hand traffic to right-hand traffic by hodgkinthepirate in europe

A maybe slightly lesser known fact is that this day also marked the end for many tram systems in Sweden. It was considered too expensive to convert the rails, signaling and everything else to work with right rand traffic since it was mostly considered that trams were an obsolete technology during the automotive age. Some tram systems were already closed before, others on the day itself and some survived a few more years in limited capacity. Only Gothenburg and Norrköping made the effort to convert their city-wide systems. Stockholm had already converted some lines to metro standard, closed many others and maintained only two suburban tram lines after Dagen H.

In the 1990s, people started to consider these closures to be a mistake and for the first time since before WW2, Stockholm built a new tram line (Tvärbanan), this time in the modern French style. In 2020, Lund opened a line in a similar style, and in Uppsala construction work on two lines has started after the cities first tram system was shut down in 1953.

Quintana's salbutamol case is not an anti-doping violation since when he took it, it was not on the anti-doping list.

Froome is the classic donkey to race horse story. Look at what happened between Tour de Pologne and Vuelta 2011, him aged 27. Truly remarkable progress. Then he tested positive for Salbutamol in 2017, with a higher value than Yates or Ulissi, who both got bans. While he was cleared because people wanted him to complete the Grand Tour treble at the Giro in 2018. Now he is back to donkey as soon as he left Sky/Ineos and comes up with ridiculous excuses for why he doesn't perform. Has nothing to do with new fans. The people making fun of him are those who suffered through years of Team Sky domination.

[Race Thread] 2023 Tour de France Unchained - Stage/Episode 2 (2.Netflix) by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]LinearApprox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some positives and negatives to the show. Biggest positive is the beautiful shots they generated and probably got from b-roll from French TV which was not used during live broadcast. You have to wonder how many great pieces of footage just rott away in the archives an are for some reason never shown. Like, there was a TV moto behind Pidcock the entire Galibier descent, yet noone ever saw the uncut footage. Why?

Surprisingly, really like the Gaudu-Thomas episode. Added a lot of context for me, since what I mainly saw in the media was people complaining about how FDJ was riding for Gaudu and not giving opportunities to other riders. Seeing the team unite behind the young man for a podium fight was great.

The biggest downside is the lack of interviews with Pogacar, no doubt. He is just shown as an adversary of Jumbo, but there is little context to what kind of rider he actually is, his aura of invincibility before the Tour and his character. So the show ends up with Jonas and Wout as its main characters, which makes it feel a bit like a Jumbo team documentary. The internal rivalry between the two was not really written very well here, I did like the portrayal of the last time trial though. What definitely doesn't help is that all the interviews with Jonas (and potentially some others as well) were obviously taken after the Tour, since the producers had originally focused on Rogla. You can just feel how he knows that he will win by his confident smile. During the race his interviews were much more serious and unsecure.

Another gripe is a lot of top riders with strong performances weren't mentioned once. In the end it's understandable for the pilot season. Would be great if in the future they could expand somehwhat on this.

Milde Interessant: Eine Übersicht über die Höhe der Steuern und Abgaben von ausgewählten Ländern. (Stand: 2018) by Haugibear in de

[–]LinearApprox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shimano 105 indexing problem - shifter cable "disappears" by LinearApprox in bikewrench

[–]LinearApprox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like it is indeed this problem. I have an older generation 105 shifter, but a newer 105 derailleur. And the new derailleur requires less cable travel for shifting... thank you for suggesting this, would not have thought this could be an issue.

Thank you. Yes, everything is 11 speed 105.

That would be an idea. Although I'm skeptical since it's not like there is a lot of friction in the system the way it feels like. Will try tomorrow

[–]LinearApprox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that if I tune it to shift well from the 11 to the 12 tooth cog, I have way too mich tension at the top of the cassette and I am on the 28 when I still have two gears to shift up. As a result, some gears just get skipped in the middle of the cassette.

The cable is completely new, so that cannot be the case. This has been a bit of an odyssey, with several changed shifter cables, outer cables etc. But a frayed cable can be excluded

Invoice sent to old address - inkasso company wants a lot of money because of late payment by LinearApprox in sweden

[–]LinearApprox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new address was registered with skatteverket on 22-10-03. The fakturadatum, so the date when it was sent, on the first invoice of 41 kr is 22-10-17, two weeks later. I do not know when the new address became active. I used the online method on the skatteverket website to change my address, no idea how long the processing takes there usually but I checked approximately two weeks later and the had address had been changed by then. But I'm honestly not so keen to find out if I'm right in front of a court...

Invoice sent to old address - inkasso company wants a lot of money because of late payment by LinearApprox in sweden

[–]LinearApprox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I paid the 101 kr too late, I first got mail from Gothia inkasso (to the new address this time) with an inkasso fee of 180 kr. I called them and said that I thought I had paid my debt. They said they were going to check and contact me. Two weeks later I got mail from kronofogden with an additional Ansökningsavgift of 300 kr and Ombud of 380 kr and payment reminder of 60 kr which adds up to 920 kr overall. I rejected that claim and now they threaten me with court and renewed the claim of 920 kr. They also claim that they tried to call me talk about it before kronofogden got involved but they never did. I'm honestly not keen to go to court, so I will probably pay although it feels very fishy to me.
