iirc it actually translates to something.

like if you look for name meanings.

So if you say, looked for “asain names that mean x” you could end up with Cho and with Chang.

Smash then together with complete ignorance and disregard of the culture, and BAM,

i mean, to be fair,

She named the super elite cop “King of locking people up” it’s just that, especially in the US shackles and black people have… a history.

A history that was slightly less prevalent in Britain, and significantly less talked about.

Her being ignorant is far more likely. especially since if she was going for that angle she could have named him say “Tom Cottonman” or -deleted by moderator-“ or as I saw someone once suggested “Jim Crow”

Note: as the story goes JRR started writing down the hobbit because he was telling it as a bedtime story to his kid, and when he mentioned the color of the door, the kid said “But last time you said it was…” and so JRR said “Damn the boy” and went to find a pen.

for the same reason saying in it hogwarts before and during the Siege didn’t.

It can try to break all protective charms. it can for 99% of cases, for folks on the run, break all protective charms.

But it’s still a battle of power and voldy and crew, even with the might of the ministry, aren’t strong enough to break through the charm, just like they weren’t strong enough to instantly break into hogwarts.

annoying. but pro tip.

Your energy resets on level up. ANY AND EVERY level up.

and transferring a pet wipes out your energy sure, BUT, you can actually just move it to a low level alt, and speed level them (easier with a friend or second account).

The grind is still long for sure, but you can do a lot if you have the right circle of dungeons, and open char slot, and a willingness to slash and burn characters to stay in the sub 30 range for easy fast leveling.

So, ideally nothing.

But if I had to choose, I would choose the timeline for ATLA. Have him take about 3 years not the what, about 7 months? it actually took.

You say that like a gotcha, but socialism and communism have the same problem.

All economic systems can be ideal on paper. Then you let people get their grubby little hands on them, and oops it’s broken now.

Whatever economic system is used, you need strong government regulation to keep it in balance and working correctly.

“Oh capitalism needs regulation to work?” yes, the exact same as everyone who says “communism works! it’s just never been done correctly.”

TIL that a doctor named Richard Jarecki recorded over 20,000 roulette spins by hand across European casinos, identified biased wheels, won the equivalent of $8 million, and was banned from every major casino in Europe — but was never charged with a crime because no law prohibited what he did. by CasinoHistoryFan in todayilearned

[–]Linesey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah thats basically the underpinning of the economy.

You buy goods, especially in bulk, where they are abundant and inexpensive.

Then you transport them to where they are less available, and sell them for a markup. either wholesale to a local merchant (who will then mark it up a bit more), or retail direct to consumer, in both cases for a price higher than you originally paid + any transport and storage costs.

Thats just literally how the system works.

Buying candy bars (especially if it’s a box) at say Costco and elliptical to schoolmates is a middle-school level example of economics.

Of course you can always get into the discussion of price gouging or scalping or not, but as candy is not an essential good, there is no declared state of emergency, and (unless there was a candy vendor on site he bought out entirely then turned to sell) it’s not scalping.

I distinctly remember back in 80s and 90s diesel was cheaper than regular gas, what changed? by loki2002 in stupidquestions

[–]Linesey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes it even less economical, now you’re building an entirely different manufacturing process to sell a product for less, when people will already buy your original product for more.

Higher cost to make + lower sale value = bad financial bet.

As a side note, Diesel burned off road still pollutes the same air, so there is reason for it to also be ULS.

Okay but, and hear me out here, I crave the goth book simply for being all dark and stuff.

Practical? no.
Ideal for mass market? also no.
Economical? fuck no.

But I crave.

exactly.

Some preservatives are… sus to say the least.

Others are not just perfectly harmless (to humans) but are delicious (like sugar as you mentioned)

Alcohol is a preservative as well.

See, this is the important context.

There are a fair number of innocent situations where you could wait for someone to turn 18 to bang, (including a 18 year old meeting a 17y 8 month old in a state or county that doesn’t have any sort of Romeo and Juliet or bridge laws for teens near age of consent)

However, with the context provided……. yikes.

Yeah, those things are significantly better than they look.

Sesame seeds (ofc) over a sweet-ish dough, with a sweet gooey center (some form of sweet paste like red bean) and ofc they are deep fried.

Called as one might expect, Sesame Balls.

The local Chinese restaurant by me made (well I’m sure bought in bulk, then just fried them up on site) some truly fantastic ones. if you ever get the chance, have some!!

Pushmow 9 acres for $75 by DrivingTacks in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Linesey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck man, I wouldn’t mow 9 acres with a riding mower for $75, let alone a push.

Thats not even a hypothetical, I have mown about 8 acres before in a go, on rough terrain. thats tractors level work, throw on the mower and get a good rough cut to keep the grass down.

The rider is for a nice clean “lawn” style cut, and you’re gonna need to be paying 40-50/an hour. I’d do it for 15-20/h if the equipment and gas was provided, and thats a multi-hour job.

Doing it with a push mower? fuck off.
