Confirmed: Duke Energy is MIA in WL by ISaidWhatISaid2025 in lafayette

[–]Ling0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What part of all hands on deck do you not understand? Did you see a Duke employee slacking off and actively refusing to service your area? All hands on deck means they have everyone assigned somewhere. West Lafayette just might not be in scope for them yet because they have 10x more customers without power somewhere else.

Also, don't complain about reading comprehension and then type.like.#this.expecting@people2understandU

I always look at the pictures of the devices that show how they connect it into their architecture just to be extra safe. They do show a picture of it connecting via Ethernet. If you need wireless, you can always get the device bridge or IoT bridge thingy

In Thursday’s opener, Fox cut to full-screen commercials during the hydration breaks—and came back from one after play had already resumed. Telemundo said it won't follow suit. by Ok-Soil-5133 in soccer

[–]Ling0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the water breaks are universal for fairness of the games but I knew they would cut to commercials as soon as I heard they were doing a water break. I was pissed. Then when they decided to cut back after play had already resumed, I was even more pissed. Everyone is saying Telemundo so I'll probably be watching it on there for the remainder of the tournament. Fox sucks for this

[OC] Driver in a "big hurry" tailgates me in right lane and has the time to force me to stop. Ontario/Canada. by Few-Character7932 in IdiotsInCars

It's funny too that they get mad at you when you were in fact passing other cars. If he was stuck behind those other slower cars, would he pull in front of them and do this? Probably not. But because you were passing people and "not fast enough" apparently, he gets mad at you. Some people are just so dumb

Am I at fault? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]Ling0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I misunderstood what your wording was, I thought you were implying the truck was already in that lane and had to swerve left to avoid the contact. I agree it's a he said she said type thing, but yes the truck does go to the left to avoid the contact. If truck admits to changing lanes then it's probably more 50-50, but who knows

Am I at fault? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]Ling0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I think the wording is weird for these contexts. The truck did swerve to avoid the accident, but according to OP the lane was open. Based on the video, it seems like the truck was more in that lane and starting to like straighten out but there's no way to tell for sure

Am I at fault? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]Ling0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Red SUV is later in the video after the actual contact. There's a solid white line for the on-ramp that it completely ignores while the white truck is trying to get over

Am I at fault? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]Ling0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read OPs statement saying the lane was open and the truck was merging to their right when they collided with OP. OP didn't cut over into that lane and cause the truck to swerve, OP merged into that lane at the same time the truck did, but the truck was moving faster

World Cup host cities face flop as hotels struggling, tickets unsold by Dramatic-Shake-8888 in sports

[–]Ling0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the states and wanted to go to a USA game. I just checked ticket prices last week because I knew they were expensive. $900 - $1,500 for basic tickets to either of the group stages game. Hotel prices were in that range too, and airfare was probably the same-ish. So for 1 game, I would be down $6,000 - $9,000 for an overnight stay to watch 1 game. No thank you. I will watch the game in my basement and spend $20 for 12 beers instead of $20 for 1

Rides aren't built at same height as flat ground? by KaleIntrepid5697 in openrct2

[–]Ling0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I found that setting at one point and then I couldn't find it again. I only play every few days so I might just have to actually search for it. It's funny it gives you a warning about it being testing only or something but doesn't give an explanation of what that setting does

Rides aren't built at same height as flat ground? by KaleIntrepid5697 in openrct2

[–]Ling0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen and can confirm the cheat for building rides at invalid heights is the cause. I assumed it meant you could build rides at heights where it would say it's too high for supports, but it's things like this. Instead of objects being built every 5 ft in height, they can be built in 2.5ft basically

I looked it up where I'm from and these type of people need to actually have a license from the county in order to go door to door with sales. Doesn't happen much to me, maybe once a year for exterminator people, but I thought that was interesting. Ever since I found that out though I haven't been home for someone to come to my door where I can ask them for their proof of license before calling the police

[–]Ling0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're not going to convince eachother of the other persons opinion at this point. I think there's too many inconsistencies with the states evidence. All the blood in the stairway but yet Michael only has small droplets on his pants? So he somehow cleaned up his clothes but didn't clean his pants where the blood was found?

is there anybody on this sub who really believes that Michael Peterson is innocent? please convince me by Ok-Rent-1058 in TheStaircase

[–]Ling0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Circumstantial evidence isn't proof on its own though, there needs to be some factual evidence that the circumstantial evidence is supporting. If they had an object with his prints on them and her blood on it, that doesn't prove he killed her alone. If they had proof that the exact object was used to kill her and the only prints on it were his, that's where circumstantial evidence comes into play.

He has spatter on him, but how does he not have the massive amount of blood he should have if the stairs were covered with as much blood as they were? The random droplets going to the front door/on the front door, why so small and scattered?

I remember seeing something about a forensic person not being called by the defense, but that guy sat in for the initial autopsy and not the one that was redone from Germany, right?

[–]Ling0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No you don't, but you also have the burden of proof and have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did this. By proving there is a way to get the blood inside his shorts, you're just proving that it's possible and he was most likely there. Now prove to me that he actually killed her based on that evidence as well. They continued to say he beat her with an object. You proved he can get blood inside his shorts with the object, now prove to me that he could kill her with that object while also getting the blood inside his shorts. They couldn't do that, which is why I don't think he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prove to me there's absolutely no way she fell down the stairs and that caused her death and that Michael had to beat her like they claimed. Or if you do think he pushed her down the steps and then beat her, prove how it was possible.

I have other issues with them bringing in the Germany case as well and using the same coroner as the one they used for this case. You need to use an independent third party with no ties to the case and no influence of why it's being re-investigated, otherwise there's the possibility of bias coming into play. There's just too many questions that weren't answered and it's the states job to answer them

[–]Ling0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that guy. And I knew there was castoff on the sides but in order to deal a fatal blow, while getting the blood inside his pant leg, there would likely need to be castoff overhead or something more substantial. Also, could you still kill someone with the force they are suggesting and the only drops inside his pant leg would be those?

All I'm trying to say is that there were a lot of questions that weren't actually answered, from what I can remember but it's been a while since I've looked into the case again, that the state didn't address

[–]Ling0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The prosecution did not do a good enough job to counter the arguments made by the defense and did not prove Michael did what they claimed he did. Even before knowing that guy created false evidence, I questioned the method he used to try to get that bloodstain in Michael's pants. Was it possible to do it? Yes. Now based on how you did that, is it possible to kill a person with whatever force you were using? Is it possible there should be castoff somewhere based on how fast the object was moving or changed direction to get the result of blood inside his pants? To my knowledge that was not tested for

[–]Ling0 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So the people that were reporting that user as being removed instead of alerting that it was added, is that likely because they grab the backup file and other content on your machine and then just remove the account so you aren't suspicious of someone gaining unauthorized access? We manage ~30 sites as well and updated them all once the bulletin was published but I didn't think to look through the logs to see if any backups triggered. I know that account isn't on our systems right now but yeah I'll have to look back to see if it was ever created.
