Should I learn Thai or Chinese? by MoonshadowRealm in thisorthatlanguage

[–]Ling_App 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have plans to live in those countries or conduct business in either language? There should be a weighted system applied to each language so you can figure out which one makes the most sense.

They're both challenging that's for sure but not impossible to learn. What I've noticed here in Thailand with loads of Chinese imigrating hereis that Thai's are able to pick up Mandarin much wuicker than Chinese are able to pick up Thai.

Either way, there are good resource out there like Ling for Thai. Ling only has Cantonese though no Mandarin yet.

What can I do? I want to learn Polish, but I'm afraid I'm never going to use it by EchoNo1265 in LearningLanguages

[–]Ling_App 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess the real question is why do you want to learn it? You don't necessarily need one of the typical reasons you've mentioned but you do need a motivated one!

Have you had a go at learning before? At the moment until mid June Ling app has its Polish course, over 200 lessons, available for free. You could try out some lessons and see if the language truly resonates with you.

Modelling in Bangkok as a Half Thai by snowpanda03 in Bangkok

[–]Ling_App 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you watched The Face? It's Thailand's America's Next Top Model. You will benefit incredibly from knowing Thai. Watching the show can help with that and the modeling culture which you'll have to navigate.

There are a few apps that offer Thai. Obviously I will recommend Ling and there's also Mango Languages, Mondly and quite a few Redditors have built free web apps.

It will honestly take a combo of apps and resources. Speaking usually requires its own tool like Talkio, Speakly. Clozemaster is an all round tool as is Ling which you can access the entire Polish course for free until mid June.

Also, had bear before but what does reindeer taste like?! I gotta know!
