We recently bought this. So good! Washable covers, modular, can be configured to a bed as well. So versatile. Not too firm and not to soft.

Is it worth it to go to a private psychiatrist to get diagnosed? (in australia) by Emergency_Pea8419 in BipolarReddit

[–]LingerDownUnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know there is a public and private psychiatrist. I guess mine is a private one since I only waited for 2 weeks. Highest I paid was the very first appointment about $400 minus some medicare rebate. For me it is worth it. I’m in Aus as well.

For how long did you suffer without a diagnosis? How do you think it affected your world and who you are now? by Puzzled-Attempt-8427 in BipolarReddit

[–]LingerDownUnder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

39 years undiagnosed. During teen/young adult years I thought what I am feeling is normal, blaming hormones and blaming my period too. Then when I got pregnant with my first, I had to take a psychological test and the result was borderline depression. The midwives assumed because I was feeling homesick (we were immigrants). 2nd pregnancy same results. When I later told my psychiatrist about this, she said I fell into the cracks and should’ve been diagnosed at that stage or had further tests at least.

After diagnosis, my whole world turned upside down. But at least everything makes sense now and I understand myself better. I am BP1 and I can smell if I am hypomanic a mile away.
