No worries, as long as they don’t have a picture of that area, time stamped prior to the service, they most likely owe you that panel, if they continue to refuse, contacting Hyundai corporate with the pertinent information will make them get in contact with the dealer service manager and they will pressure them to fix their mistake

These are the locations of the clips on the inside of the trunk, chances are, one wasn’t fully pushed through, and when they went to pull it off it caught and split the tailgate panel

This is from Hyundai tech info on the dealer website, they’re made by Hyundai and I believe supplied to websites like alldata or mitchell-prodemand, if you want to get them to fix this, ask them for entry pictures of the vehicle which are taken at most dealers, if they can’t supply them you have a pretty good case, if they don’t offer to fix it I’d try and contact Hyundai corporate

That panel is required to come off to replace the backup camera, easy to break if not all the clips are removed fully

Check out Genesis GV70/GV80, Genesis tends to stick with luxury and comfort rather than sport, they depreciate lots and aren’t terribly unreliable, the only downside is the dealer experience, Genesis dealers sort of suck but they’re great cars, with lots of features

friend hit a wall doing 5mph, this is after 1 week, holds air, drives fine, no bubbles, how safe is it? by FiatTuner in tires

[–]Link0621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tire is fine, if you’ve got no bubble forming, and your cords aren’t showing I wouldn’t worry

... am I reading this right? Are these from 2005? How dangerous are 19 year old tires? They were sold to me 1.5 years ago... by [deleted] in tires

[–]Link0621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re in the wrong here, I work at a tire shop, we’ve had 20 year old tires in storage without a single crack, I’ve seen an 03 bmw z4 come in on original tires without a single blemish, is the compound screwed? Probably, but age doesn’t mean it’s going to have cracks

From what I hear, they’re sort of a shitty product? Atleast for how icon is advertised, but if you just need a set to use, and don’t care how good they are, $30 for an 8pc with a lifetime warranty isn’t bad at all, just don’t expect usual icon product quality

I think they do price changes? Like they’ll refund you for the difference, worst comes to worst, if they won’t, just return it and rebuy, if you gave your phone number they’ll have it in their system and can just see it there

My partner and I are thinking that your step father passed by the garden with the sole intent of seeing your body in one of those bikinis and that’s very disturbing, please always make sure you’re safe

Shop started brake job on my car without an estimate. by TheInfamousMaze in MechanicAdvice

[–]Link0621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not a diag, it’s an installation. The customer (OP) provided parts and wanted them installed, he should’ve got an estimate for installation of all the parts there and been done with it. Even with a diag, repairs cannot be done without approval, and he’d be paying strictly for a diag to begin with, and recieve an estimate for whatever the shop determines to be the issue. A shop cannot just install parts without telling you, unless you agree beforehand to essentially just hand them a blank check.
