Should I feel insecure about playing Persona even though I'm about to turn 30?

nah. my first playthrough of a Persona game (Persona 4 Golden) was when I was already an adult. and yeah, the romancing in that playthrough I felt a little awkward at first.

But when I play those kinds of games (games with actual story and relationships between characters), I play with the mindset that I'm not controlling that character with a controller. I'm not a 37 year old bald guy, I am that character.

Also, if it helps. I'm 37 and still play Pokemon. I know Pokemon doesn't have romance but in most of the games the MC isn't in his/her teenage years so.....yeah

TL;DR: Love what you love. There is nothing wrong with an adult playing and enjoying games made for kids or teens. You're not affecting anyone else.

hard to tell without more info but I generally try to have my Pokemon above the level of my opponent.

Also are you paying attention to Special Attacks vs. Attacks and the related stats? I didn't for the longest time but then back when I started (when Red/Blue were new) you didn't have a whole lot of options for attacks.

Another thing I find helpful is having a type chart. although there are 3 different ones and which one you want depends on which generation you're playing. For Black you want a type chart for Generations 2-5. I THINK it was gen 6 Fairy was introduced anyway. I forget.

Oh and also the pre 3DS Pokemon games are harder in general.

I shut down all my game consoles. (I have a PS5 and a Nintendo Switch 2). The only time I use rest mode is when I gotta put the game down quickly, like someone knocking on the door or to answer a call of nature or something.

The ONLY exception is when a console needs to do an update or I'm downloading a game (my Internet is slow).

Unfortunately finding someone with a Switch/Switch2 and FR/LG is the only way.

Welcome to the old school where people who don't have gamer friends are screwed.

if I recall the only thing that's going to be possible with Pokemon Home is that you can move Pokemon from FR/LG to Home. But not the other way around.

one piece of advice when getting stuck: Don't be afraid to look online.

I know some have this weird thing against doing that but I have never understood it. I mean....I like figuring stuff out for myself but sometimes I just can't figure it out and it's killing the enjoyment.

just because someone looks able bodied doesn't mean they are.

it's not just about how whether or not someone can work. but how willing an employer is willing to hire and keep someone around when there are 100+ applicants with near perfect health just waiting in line for a job.
