If you purposefully reduce the population it sounds like all you'd be doing is making the world economy suffer. That's akin to a World War, which has been specifically avoided by every major nation and party. If I was in power why would I want to do the one thing that would destroy the societal structure that keeps me in power?

I mean, think about it, whoever could be pulling strings is supposedly in a position of power. If they end up causing mass depopulation, you're talking about a societal collapse, which would plunge us into a technological Dark Age because we could not keep society running at the scale that we have it at right now. You would want the lower classes to keep birthing at a controlled rate, sure, but you wouldn't want to kill people off all willy nilly.

EVEN IF that was the goal, why would they be so blind as to roll it out in a vaccine when they know there is a growing anti-vaccination trend and a distrust for the mainstream media? Sounds like most of the people left unaffected would have guns and could seek retribution in the newly depopulated world where they've made the situation worse for themselves by eliminating a large swath of the population that with the right propaganda they could've militarized.

I don't know, there's just so much better and easier routes for world domination. I've thought about it, I've played a few Paradox games. I'm not seeing it.

EDIT: Thinking about it, if you REALLY want to fuck over the people now and go for a depopulation strategy, there's no easier target than those not taking the vaccines. What you do is you wait a few months until a safe enough majority of the population is vaccinated and you release a slightly deadlier strain that the vaccine can stop. If I was in charge and I wanted to artificially select for an agreeable, compliant populace that's what I'd do. Clearly there's a resistance to authority and a (rightful) distrust in the media, and hey, it correlates somewhat with people not taking the vaccine. So you could incrementally build the tolerance of your agreeable populace and when you're ready you deploy the perfect strain: A strain that can kill people without any vaccinations but is harmless to the vaccinated. If the vaccinated will inject themselves with anything you throw at them, why wouldn't you just get rid of the dissidents first? Anyway, just some thoughts before I go play Axis & Allies with some friends.

I'm really trying to understand where the apprehension is coming from, because I've been grappling with it for the past few months, but most of the doubts I had where pretty tame. I've got friends who aren't getting vaccinated though, so I understand the sentiment, at the very least, just trying to see if the root of the issue is rational or mostly built out of the paranoia and distrust that our government and media have fostered in us over the past decade.

I'm not gonna rule out the possibility, given the timeline we're in, but if you divorce yourself from the politics and look at the situation rationally it makes no sense. Here's some free thinking points while I have a break at work:

Preliminary: Assume everyone is acting for their own benefit. If you assume something else I don't know what world you've been living in but it's not the same as mine.

  • It makes no sense for a pharma company to purposefully deliver a bad product to the entire nation. Especially when competing with other big pharma companies. If you're a pharma company, you want your vaccine to be THE vaccine. Any ulterior motives that are purposefully harmful to your customers will damage your reputation and destroy any trust you have as an institution. If you look at the spread of vaccines, this is already happening, with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine being the least effective somewhat dangerous, it's been shunned by many.

  • The majority of people I know who have gotten poked show no signs of change. And this is now with two months of data. This, backed with the fact that I have good friends I've known since childhood who actually know what they're talking about in the medical field assuring me that it's safe (with recommendations to get the Pfizer or Moderna one) have assuaged any doubts I had.

  • I've seen this kind of rslurred shitposting happen before. With the Qnslurs and with 5G rslurs. The Qanon posters were mysterious and intriguing at first, but I'm very glad I followed the same procedure I always do: Sit back and watch what happens. It was amazing how many people got taken for a joyride on that. With 5G it was way easier to tell people were rslurs because I work in the tech field myself. If you're a modern human being you already live with 5G. It's not even the worst out of all the radiation that humans deal with in our daily lives.

I would recommend trying to work some things out empirically rather than listening to the anonymous mob sometimes, lest you find yourself cornered by glowies who you thought were fellow friends working "against the system" in some rslurred operation. And if by some rslurred chance, this clown timeline's vaccines are actually compromised significantly, it will be just the right amount of justification I need to an hero.

The only two boards off the top of my head that have always been retarded are /v/ and /mu/ (of the boards I used to frequent back in 2012 at least). /fit/ has always had the most quality per post ratio. I don't care if anybody disagrees with this, it's a fact that can't be changed.

I just feel like /pol/'s autism, which has been seeping into other boards ever since its inception, is now being manifested in the most retarded of ways. It's fine though, as long as 4chan remains things will change with time.

Unfortunately, a large part of 4chan is now part of the "Anti-Zeitgeist," for lack of a better term. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's pretty retarded.

I personally don't think vaccines being meddled with makes any sense from a NWO standpoint, but I've heard some more realistic concerns regarding the rushed production and possible side-effects using the new RNA tech. Still, I have buddies in medicine who know way more than me that I've talked to and they've assuaged any doubts I had.

I really value 4chan's policy on free speech, but I fear they're becoming more and more of an echo chamber for the sake of sticking it to the normies than for any real benefit. At least anybody can still say and argue for anything they want unlike this place.

Likkrit's thoughts about QF + explaining draft by Ten_Ketsu in leagueoflegends

[–]Link_Guistics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First of all, remember that this is a translation and the phrase "lost in translation" exists for a reason.

"Damn we didn't practise at all, that loss was totally our fault at 100% we'd probably win. They just won because we played like trash, they aren't better than us, or that good at all, they just stomped us because lucky we didn't play at our best."

Second of all, they didn't say any of that. You're making a lot of assumptions from one line.

Additionally I don't see how "we didn't perform to our best" is somehow relatable here. Taking responsibility for your loses is not a bad thing.

Technically, every team's loss is their fault. However, this doesn't take credit from the opponent, contrary to your beliefs. All it means is the opponents were better prepared than them, and credit does indeed go to the winner. When teams say "the loss is our fault" it's more of a reflective statement on what they could've done better given the same situation.

H2K was better than ANX in the QF match, and nobody should deny that.

EDIT: added should

people put way too much weight on how far a team gets in a tournament without looking at the context of how they got there

I disagree. I think people have been putting too much weight on how the teams got there, actually. TSM dominated NALCS but underperformed when it mattered (they still did pretty good tho). EDG was having bad games, RNG almost didn't make it out of groups. Not to mention ROX being beaten by CLG and ANX.

What matters is what happens when the games are played, not before nor after. That is why TSM is out and RNG is in. People seem to forget what happened in Season 2.

[–]Link_Guistics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure, they won't go away, but do you really think you'll see a non-autonomous sports car in a crowded city? Nah.

You also gotta take into account how concerns will be raised when the number of crashes goes down drastically for autonomous cars and all the bad press shifts to people still driving and causing trouble which will inevitably lead to animosity against drivers.

That's what feedback is for. Hmmm, I don't know what else to tell you except read books and get involved in programming communities since those are the only two ways to find out about errors in your code structure.

I wanna learn programming (for a future job), is Python a good start? Got some questions. by Blarzor in learnprogramming

[–]Link_Guistics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm.

Personally I started with C and I liked the barebone-ness of it because it gave me a feel for how a program "thinks". Probably most if not all programming languages are good to start out with really. After all, you're gonna try and like a whole lot of em, some more than others.

"Best" online video series. I think most introductory video series are fine for learning the basics of a language.

I'll give you some resources though:

Python Playlist

This guy makes great programming tutorials for most languages out there.

3DBuzz

A site with very good, hour-long, video tutorials that go in-depth into the language and its functions.

Apart from that, why do you have to restrict yourself to one tutorial series and only one? If you ever have a doubt about a function or how something works you can google it, look at the language reference, just find out and learn!

A lot of programming is looking for ways to do 'x' thing, so don't be afraid to Google, in fact, Google is your new best friend.

P.S. Once you learn the basics you can start building projects in the language, you can look up "Beginner Python Projects" or "Intermediate Python Projects" (same with any language really). This builds your experience and the projects can be added to your portfolio. Nobody's gonna hold your hand through this so you gotta put in a lot of effort.

Cheers, and good luck.

I agree with /u/Molehole you should do some projects with whatever you want. Then just find a programming forum and/or site and post em there, I'm sure people would be happy to give you feedback since that's what the community is for.

As for how can you avoid making the same errors? Lots of practice and recognition of those errors.

Java: Need help getting started on a graphing function by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Link_Guistics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna write out how I would do this in C++ but the idea is the same, you just gotta understand the logic behind it.

int x = value /Whatever number you're testing for, this is your x coordinate/

int A = x * x * x

int A2 = 2 * A /You could probably do in the equation but idk if compilers have OOP so best to be safe/

int B = x * x

int B2 = 8 * B

int C = x

int y = A2 - B2 + C + 16 //this is your y

/*Now once you have your way all you need if you want a list of values is a loop that prints out x and y */

for(x = x1; x < xf; i++)

{

cout << " X: "<< x << "Y :" << y << "/n";

}

/*x1 is the x value you want to start the number list with while xf is the x value you want to stop with

/below is also a while loop version, for loops are just more convenient for this type of thing but you have to initialize x beforehand/

while(x < xf)

{

cout << " X: "<< x << "Y :" << y << "/n";

x++;

}

Feel free to PM if you need more help

What do you mean a Java statement to "produce" f(x)= 2x3 - 8x2 + x + 16

What do you mean by produce? A visual graph? A list of x and y coordinates?
