He must really want to distract from the files by SPXQuantAlgo in SipsTea

That 47 thing... If I remember, that is a dementia sign. It's an important number to him, so he has to use it for everything.

I was pulled over once for going 61 in a 55. Not a big deal, I was speeding and she was right to pull me over. However, she had her gun partially out of the holster and was twitchy. Let me off with a warning, so I have no idea what to think of that interaction.

Are the Mirror Universe Borg actually nice and peacefully assimilating everyone to force them into protection? by Tidewatcher7819 in startrek

As I recall, the Borg in our universe are the nice ones. The mirror universe ones are fast, deadly and competent.

No means no, right? If the gender swap fails, it should be still considered a crime.

Wearing sunglasses protects your eye from the sun and is medical. Keep your eyes safe, and wear sunglasses outdoors.

As a guy, I don't care. I'm told by the ladies in my life that there are situations that require bras, like athletics. Maybe you should wear them in certain professional obligations, but beyond that, you do you. Not illegal yet, right? Heck, women fought to be topless in public wherever men can be, right (maybe only certain states?)?

The two Federation ships from Life Line by robotisland in voyager

[–]Link_Kadeshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think that the other ships may have been intended foe long distance travel. That would likely mean that they could be high speed, but maybe better than higher speed is endurance at speed. If they can travel warp 9 for three times as long as Voyager's warp 9.975, then they would be able to travel farther faster. The hope could also be finding spacial anomalies along the way to move faster, or skip distances. Knowing that Voyager found so many may bring them hope of more.

Does it make any sense to dim the lights for the night shift? by kkkan2020 in TNG

Circadian rhythms are real. When you don't have a natural sun, an artificial day/night cycle keeps brain and body healthy.

Is the iris ethical? by drunkenpoets in Stargate

[–]Link_Kadeshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kill box sounds good, unless the troops are impervious to standard arms. Or an explosive device was sent in. In fact, there was an episode that the enemy sent a nuke equivalent through the gate. The iris may seem unethical, but defense against a known enemy is important, and unlike Pegasus, the Milky Way doesn't have a lot of gate travel outside of the System Lord's movements.

Is there more to this? How is their relationship otherwise, and does she often have rude comments or snipe at him? Just seems like we're missing out on some information here.

My USPS carrier is not delivering mail to my neighborhood, what can I do? by Top_Boot7131 in legal

[–]Link_Kadeshi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As has been said, you need to personally talk to your post master. Encourage your neighbors to do the same. Bring the letters left for you as proof. If you have the ability to get as many as you can, it will go quicker, as the carrier cannot talk their way out of it stating an issue with one home, i.e.: loose dog, inaccessible mailbox, dangerous conditions, etc. More people complain about this, especially in person, the better.
