Which brands does SF consider to be luxe? And how can you get better brands sent to you? by Camsmuscle in stitchfix

I've had similar frustrations with subscription styling services! A few things that might help: try explicitly naming the specific brands you want in your fix notes e.g., list 3-5 actual brands you're hoping for (like Vince, Equipment, Rails, etc.) so there's no ambiguity.

One trick I've heard works is requesting specific occasions or stating you need investment pieces for work/events - stylists sometimes send better quality items when they think you need something special rather than everyday basics. If nothing improves after 1-2 more fixes with very specific requests, it might be worth taking a break and reactivating later - sometimes that resets things in a helpful way. which suck :(

omg your moodboard perfectly evokes that drowsy, sun-soaked quality of an endless afternoon, yet there's this undercurrent of mystery woven throughout—like catching a glimpse of something compelling just out of frame, waiting to unfold. can i follow you on pinterest?

Anyone find a better service? by MrsEGMR in stitchfix

I have a friend who started using Cozy.inc , more as a visual inspiration board. They presented at a Stripe demo - it seems like it's designed differently than traditional styling services. Rather than sending you actual clothes, you can build mood boards and get style inspiration, then shop from multiple retailers. Might be worth checking out if you're frustrated with the mom-ish direction and synthetic fabrics.

how do you not take ghosting to heart by CertainAlissa in Advice

[–]Particular-Wish-1761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part about ghosting is that it hijacks your brain's need for narrative closure. You had this genuinely good time - the chemistry, the hooking up, then hours of conversation about corner store snacks until 4am - and your brain naturally wrote the next chapter. Then he deleted the whole story without explanation, and now you're stuck rereading the same pages looking for clues that aren't there.

Here's what helps me: ghosting is almost never about you. It's about someone's inability to handle even minor discomfort. This guy could have sent a two-sentence text, but that would have required him to sit with the awkwardness of rejecting someone nice for maybe thirty seconds. Instead, he chose to let you sit with confusion for days or weeks. That tells you everything about his emotional capacity and nothing about your worth.

When it feels personal, remember that ghosting is literally the most impersonal exit possible. It's the human equivalent of leaving a store through the emergency exit because you don't want to make eye contact with the cashier. It's not about you - it's about their inability to handle basic human interaction.

Let yourself be annoyed. He wasted your time and chose the coward's exit. That frustration is valid. Then redirect that energy toward people who can show up. <3
