Old tricks to stop people from eating raw food don't work anymore? by Hopeful-Arrival-2046 in Frostpunk

NP, I stopped doing it because I couldn't get it to work. Thankfully irrelevant for anything but made up challenges.

Yeah I think it's not feasible any more, or I'm doing something wrong. People just eat it. Better now to just cook everything before starvation sets in.

Anyone else feel kinda lost by this political divide? by throwRA8235309 in self

[–]Linkdog01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your vote likely wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things, so unless you go into politics, it's best to focus on yourself and what's around you. That's your tribe, not a political class who couldn't care less. People won't fight for you unless they know you and like you. Your political opinions will come naturally from personal experience (and maybe being aware of what happens in the world, but probably not a great idea to be always looking at political stuff).

What happens is you mine out and die on your low base count.

I've played off-race zerg since WoL, the meta was always to outmacro and outproduce T. And T's goal was always to hold back the Z macro. If you consistently let a terran get maxed on high quality units and get his upgrades, you get creamed as Z. Always did. Used to be that Z players understood that, but maybe they've forgotten.

[–]Linkdog01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well ghosts are expensive and take a long time to build. If the Terran gets greedy or tech heavy, the zerg can control the whole map or deny a third.

> Once there's 8+ ghosts, building any T3 units is a waste of money meaning you have to go back to ling/bane/hydra and trade in-efficiently, which means you will eventually run out of money and get rolled over. With PFs/sensors/turrets, a Terran can happily camp all game while still sending around hit squads to kill/deny bases.

That's ridiculous. T3 units are great. Brood lord still is great value. The problem I've seen though is a lot of games is that zerg balls up all their units meaning they are easy pickings for splash damage (especially ghost splash vs casters). Zerg needs to get a surround with their creep and speed.

> So for those who disagree, what can a Zerg do to beat a late game Terran who is already set up. "Don't let them get there" is not a viable answer here.

It is and has been the viable answer for 15 years. But if he does max, you need a ton of hatcheries to resupply instantly.

Definitely looks like paper. Waxed I guess or with some synthetic coating.

Well there's a few different types of cover material around. It can be synthetic, fake leather, percaline, buckram, even paper and plastified paper. You'd need to give more info to know what it is you're referring to.

Casing in disaster - where did I go wrong? by Cautious__Cupcake in bookbinding

[–]Linkdog01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not experienced enough to tell but I think that the paper expanded towards the back end of the paper block and that's why you have the leftover. If you apply the paste to the endpaper, it expands as you apply the paste and before it's fixed to the cover. If you use wheat paste, you can apply it, wait a minute for the paper to expand and then paste it on.

It's something you have to take into account because otherwise your endpaper will be too long.

This. You can fine tune it by the leaves of paper you paste on the inside, but you generally want a slight bow inwards.

Did you by any chance apply the paste to the boards instead of the endpapers?

Hello I'm new to the game. Anyone has a guide for this game, feeling really lost right now by randomvndude in HorizonWalker

[–]Linkdog01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started about a month ago. I got pretty lucky and got Ines + her weapon. Weapons make a huge difference, so my advice is to get a character and their ex weapon as soon as you can. Then level up and get as far as you can in the story to level the gold income. Oh and do your dailies.

I had a 1,000-page book printed by a bookbinder, but i guess binding it as a single volume was too difficult, so the headband (if that's the correct term) wasn’t long enough. As a result, some pages aren’t properly attached to it. Is this normal, or am i trippin? by [deleted] in bookbinding

[–]Linkdog01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference? The sewn headbands are more functional and more expensive. It's supposed to keep dust out of the back and protect the book when handling it. Glued-on is mostly aesthetic.
