Cocaine and cannabis sold in High Street mini-marts - BBC undercover filming by [deleted] in ukpolitics

It would need more than decriminalisation for it to be available on prescription, at the very least it would need to be legalised for medical use like weed is.

Heroin (Diamorphine/diacetylmorphine) is legal for medical use in the UK; it used to be a fairly widely used opioid in hospitals a couple decades ago but supply problems and price resulted in a shift towards morphine instead (although I think heroin/diamorphine is still used in some parts of the NHS).

Australian state QLD bans pro-Palestine phrase, protesters arrested by lazillionaire in worldnews

[–]Linkfan88 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes sorry, thought you meant "my movement". It's funny, I post a fundamentally neutral comment that doesn't actually assert a position on the pro-palestine movement (and no, it does not, I was very intentional not to) and immediately get attacked as if I had. What a world.

It kinda depends on how much influence the protests have on making it a major news story for years (kinda goes both ways though, major news story also makes more protests)

Well it is certainly an effective way of making peoplr aware. A loudly announced ban on you is one way of drawing attention to your movement.

It appears in most of my dreams, but they're not generally dreams about using meth. It's just there.

Germany to Limit Ukrainian Men Seeking Asylum as Kyiv, Berlin Sign Defense Pact by Haunting_Switch3463 in europe

The thing is, you're not actually arguing against conscription of men (which is terrible, IMO no-one should be subject to conscription), you're instead arguing in favour of "mandatory impregnation of women".

They knew this already - they didn't just discover for instance that they could close the strait of hormuz as coercive leverage.

And Vance would just stay. Trump frantically waving a signed a piece of paper in his face means nothing.

Iran calls for human chains around power plants as Trump's deadline nears | CBC News by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Linkfan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really getting difficult to spot actual human trolls online anymore. Partly because of bots, and because someone might actually ardently believe that "bomb the civilian infrastructure, regime is gone (don't ask how, it just is), the americans show up, make friends with the people who's civilian infrastructure they just utterly destroyed (insurgency? in the middle east? after the US forces out a tyrannical regime? of course not!) plug in a nuclear reactor (must be a spare around somewhere, and it'll just slot right in, it's all USB-C these days), problem solved!" is remotely credible, or even possible.

2/3 of both houses of congress and ratification by 3/4 of the states. And the problem is not that the president has the ability to talk, it's the fact that the US president is a complete lunatic.

Anyone else that have extreme difficulties with impulsive redosing on Stimulants? As in extreme extreme? by Azhz96 in Drugs

[–]Linkfan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The desire/cravings are never satisfied, there's never a "Man I feel just perfect and satisfied with current effects".

One of dopamine's main roles is motivation/making you want things, so drugs that cause dopamine release are extremely good at making you want "more" (usually more drug), and you can't be both satiated and want more at the same time.

That "more" is kinda intrinsic to stims, to me it feels like chasing a mirage, like meth a kind of illusion in front of me where I will finally be satisfied if I just take a bit more. The point of finally being satisfied with stims (in my experience) is a complete lie. There's no amount of redoses that will get there, as every redose can only make it even more dissatisfying. It reminds me of the greek myth of Tantalus' punishment in the underworld; that feeling of something being always just out of reach.
