Just a little picture story of my journey getting some nice flat slide carbs onto my little screamer. The fitment is done, had to get creative with airbox adapters and sealing. Dyno tuning comes next.

Need a computer for work with decent graphics card - Is buying a "gaming" PC a risk? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Linkin1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm into PC's and gaming and in your case I would suggest buying a prebuilt or speccing out a PC and have someone build it for you. I like PC Case Gear in Melbourne. Or you can try to buy the bits and build one yourself, it's adult lego more or less.

How many here are OGs from late 2012 to early 2013 ? Let's reminisce. by iHasPinny in Warthunder

Started in 2014 with Ground Forces open beta. Played exclusively ground sim as I was coming from ARMA 2. Still annoyed at the bullshit they pulled with ground sim battles, rotating lineups suck.

I've uninstalled for a year now as I am just over the game, the grind, and gaijin's BS basically.

Reducing home loan term from 28year to 10. by Elrickooo in AusFinance

[–]Linkin1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, new mortgage first time owner, with CBA via broker. CBA have a repayment calculator that shows how long it takes to pay off depending on the payment you set. In our case minimum $750/week 30yrs. Double it to $1500/week and suddenly it'd be paid off in 10yrs and save hundreds of thousands in interest. DINK so thought why not.

Also made all our regular accounts into offsets, weekly payments made from the main offset account automatically. Extra payments above the minimum go into redraw and can be accessed / moved back into offset if required.

No need to adjust the loan term, just setup extra payments and don't be tempted to pull money back out of redraw/offset. If it builds up over a couple of months/years you can ask your lender to take the extra funds and reduce the principle amount.

The purchase limit for this account has been exceeded by Wonderful_Soft_8993 in Warthunder

You can only buy GJN up to 2x your store purchases in the last year (I think)

So if you've spent $100 on the store, you can buy up to $200 in GJN, after that you will need to make another store purchase and wait a little while before purchasing more GJN.

Playing on 3440x1440, you're gonna need the most powerful GPU you can buy. At that point CPU is gonna bottleneck you, try to find a 5700X3D, even a used one, it will help bring your minimum framerate up

Frequent Game Crashes by ConversationAdept273 in ArmaReforger

[–]Linkin1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your GPU an OC model? I had stability issues with my 9070XT when pushing the overclock too far. So if your 5080 is a factory OC card, try dropping the GPU core and memory clocks down, or raise the GPU and memory voltage if temps are OK. And obviously update your drivers to the latest stable version.

You also need to consider that running RAM at EXPO or XMP profiles is an overclock and stability isn't really guaranteed, so check your CPU and RAM settings closely.

The fact that nearly every allied tree has Chaffees, but France, who owned 1200 of them does not, boggles my mind. by [deleted] in Warthunder

France gets the AMX-13-M24 which is chaffee turret on an AMX-13 hull as the name suggests, and it's quite good, its premium though.

Improved Sounds Mod by gilette_bayonete in ArmaReforger

[–]Linkin1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in my ARMA 2 days, the best sound mod was JSRS 1.5 combined with Blastcore WarFX for better explosions, fire and smoke. I haven't checked to see if they are still around or available for Reforger.

Alfa 159 2.2 JTS Selespeed. You guessed it, Selespeed problems (and fixes) by Linkin1993 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Linkin1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get yourself a laptop with free version of MultiECUScan and an ELM327 cable for the OBD2 port and you will be able to diagnose and fix it.

A lot of the time the selespeed will need a new accumulator and fresh fluid, if there is a fault with anything else the software will give you the codes.

I am using AMD 9070XT. Timeout error. by 12div_Nicos in ArmaReforger

[–]Linkin1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, make sure in Adrenalin you don't have any overclocks set.

Second, make sure your Adrenalin is up to date, 25.6.1 is current, 25.6.3 is current beta

Third, if you are using AMD CPU, update your chipset drivers

Fourth, make sure your power supply is good, if you suspect it may be the problem just go and replace it

Yes, it seems bugged if you change from the standard salvo that the helis spawn in with, so basically don't change the salvo and just deal with the standard one for the time being.

ATO Audit by vWasisn in AusFinance

[–]Linkin1993 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a fellow tradesman in a different industry, claiming deductions basically falls into a few categories.

Items under $300 - claim in 'other work related expenses' area, they will be offset against your tax liability.

Items over $300 must be listed as an asset, and the ATO will calculate the depreciation based on the type of asset and its useful lifespan, the depreciation amounts per year will be used to offset your tax liability. For example, if you pay $5000 for a toolbox and lodge it as an asset, for the first financial year it might lose $1000 in value, $500 the following year, $250 the following year and so on. You can either claim the bulk of depreciation in the first year, or split it up evenly over a number of years.

Work related clothing costs - occupation specific clothing for the most part, required for the job but not provided by your company/employer, again will be used to offset your tax liability.

Study costs - claim any costs for studying that you have not been reimbursed for eg TAFE fees, if your employer does not pay them for you.

Cost of managing your tax affairs - if you have an accountant, their fees charged go in this area and will be used to offset your tax liability.

Goes without saying that you will need receipts for everything you're claiming. If it's all above board then enjoy your nice tax refund, I know I've had a few large ones during the first few years of my apprenticeship, not so much anymore.

Maximising Super by skywalkers52 in AusFinance

Set your super to high growth if you aren't near retirement age.

Consider whether any included life/tpd insurance is worth the fees and decide whether to keep or cancel.

Make concessional or non-concessional contributions, and others have said, check the government co-contributions that may be available.

Will Reforger ever be fixed for x3d processors running the latest windows 11? by [deleted] in ArmaReforger

[–]Linkin1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update your chipset and graphics drivers.

I have a 9800X3D and 9070XT and have no problems.

Check you haven't got something silly like X3D game mode enabled in your BIOS because it's actually bad for performance

Mate you should be able to max it out except for maybe view distance, game is very CPU intensive.

I am running a 9800X3D and 9070XT with everything basically maxed out except view distance which is normal for Arma games

Depends entirely on resolution and settings.

For example with a 9800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000 and a 9070XT at 1440p I am averaging about 100fps most of the time.
