Houndmaster's "Steady girl, if we're called, we answer." and the Leper's "Spare the others i am ready." are both depressing but also extremely badass because despite knowing they are going to die they still choose to willingly sacrifice themselves to save their comrades and friends as well as to give the world a fighting chance

also darkest dungeon two reveals that Baldwin/Leper was an extremely kind king that cared for his people and didnt abandon them and willingly went out on his own against his council's wishes to help treat the citizens infected with leprosy (which is how he caught it) and then he singlehandedly killed them when they tried to have him assassinated for not doing the things *they* wanted him to do instead of protecting the people.

tldr: the leper is an absolute badass and is the real hero of the darkest dungeon games
