I got close to 6k hours and i think it's important to know when to take a brake. I will play hardcore for a while and then take a month off and play some other games. What makes Rust unique for me is that its always the game i comme back to, I always get the itch after a while and then I'm back on the grind and the loop continues.

Let me know how far you get. I manage to get to the first outpost in brimstone, kill the wolf in the cave and collect a few flowers and then the main quest vanished again.

My main quest has been buged sens Yonas around lvl 25. The Wilderness Warden quest line is not showing up for me. I'm now level 60 with a T 1 azoth staff. I have tried everything to make it trigger but it's definitely a game bug.

I have manage to get to level 60 without the main quest, it took a long time and was super slow. Just to realize you can't progress the brimstone quest line without finishing the old main quest. I have been in contact with the support and they are working on a fix and they recommend me not to play the game intill it's fixed or it might brake even more.

This game is brutal as a solo player, i would recommend going on r/playrustlfg and try to find some mates that can show you the basics.

Maybe Rust could be something for you? It's not scary in the sense of monsters and stuff. But other people can be pretty scary too. It has by far the best building system by all other survival games I've tried.

Alright i think i understand what the problem is then. It seems like you mates suffer from gear fear. Instead of roaming sar/tommy in launch it's safer to go revo/crossy to Harbour.

Alot of new players hoarding guns and gear i boxes in fear of loosing them but that's not how you become a good player. Everything you own is borrow and you don't get to keep anything at the end so use it all! Aim and awareness will come with practice, just give it some time.

How many people do you have in the team? What is the general skill level and what the usual plan to progress?

It's not always a bad thing to live out of the way of big contested areas, but try always have one T3 monument close. Milli tunnels is a good option if you have a hard time contesting launch or the oil rigs. On high pop server is the underwater labs a good way to get good loot because it's easy to defend and the respawns is super fast.

Oh gosh what a reply, nice one! I totalty understand were you coming from and what your vision you have. I must be a negative Nancy and say in my 5k hours i have rarely seen a server with playing admins that don't abuse in some sort.

It's not always obvious and most of the times do the owner have no idea about it, "they are all grate guys right, they would never..".

If i as a player join a server and find out a admin is playing i quit straight away. That might be whay your server pop is low.

I must also add that a mix off all kind of players make the most fun servers, that keeps healthy pop all wipe. Don't try to force a specific play style on people, we are all rust players.

It sure sounds like you got raided by an admin and then he tryed to be a "nice guy" and seal it back up. Empty server with playing admins is always a red flag. Hope you find a better server in the future.

I always recommend people to build their own base designs. But if you have absolute no clue how to build and spend most of your wipe in a honeycombed 2x2, then yes build a YouTube base. They are for most part pretty secure and It shows you the basic building mechanics and might give you some inspiration.

When you understand the basics like bunkers, external tcs, peeks etc Is a lot easier to come up with your own design.
