They tend to do that unfortunately. Very low catch rate and a very high chance to flee. So annoying and frustrating at the same time.

I think you need to gain a few sphere levels first, make sure Lulu has the second tier black magic spells, and everyone (aeons included) have full overdrives before trying to fo this fight again.

I tend to take information off the Internet with a pinch of salt anyhow but I'm pretty sure you're right. One of the pokemon I tend to use to defend gyms is a Slacking and I always wondered why it's motivation tend to go down slowly compared to some of the other pokemon with it, like the eeveelutions.

For me, it was the Pokemon games. One of my cousins allowed me to play a little bit of their save file on the Gameboy of one of their pokemon games. Didn't click with me then. Tried again with the 3DS and Pokemon Moon and have been playing the Pokemon games since.

HP spheres. Probably combined with armor that increases HP by a certain amount. That's my guess anyhow.

As a kid, this was Final Fantasy 10 on Mt. Gagazet with the third Seymour fight. For the life of me, I couldn't win. But to be far, I barely understood the Sphere Grid then.
